I'm looking into all the 5-6v battery adapters on the market and I need your experiences.

I'd like to know:

Battery length (priority) - I want a long lasting battery that is preferably easy to charge. The longer the better. I saw a review where a guy was getting over 24 hours on a battery but can't remember the model (magnum? maybe?) anything over 7 hours is ideal.

Must be a manual switch - I'm biased

Ease of use - how easy is it to hold and use, how is the draw? I have a 510 and 901 now and the 901 is hard as hell to draw from.

Aesthetics - Yeah I'm shallow when it comes to looks. I want it to look like a monster or a spaceship, but really anything "really nice" will do.

----

The more reviews the better. I am looking for one well researched purchase that will last. Between you and me, I've been hemorrhaging money on e-cigs and my wife is finally taking notice so I have one more "big" purchase left for a month or two. (liquid purchases not included).

Prodigy all the way baby.... I get at least 7 hours out of my batteries and I am a constant vapor for sure. The switch placement is awesome and the thing just looks great. Steve has done a really awesome job with this unit. I couldn't be any happier with it. It produces huge amounts of vapor and throat hit on low mg juice is important to me. I use the 901 model but soon to switch to the 801 cause I hear it is better at 5.0v. I can't compare the Screwdriver yet but it is on the way. I just have to have one of everything. You just can't get a feel for something if it isn't in your hand. I hear they have advantages as well like longer battery life for one and they are small. That is the only problem I have with the Prodigy is the size of it. But hey how else are you going to get that kind of power. And trust me I have the Puresmoker pass thru and it just sits there now that I have the Prodigy. If you are on the fence about the Prodigy just order the Passthru first and try that out. It will give you an idea of their quality. The Prodigy is just a bigger version of that. I really like how you can switch adaptors and go with whatever atomizer you like. I have all the adaptors for the pass and like the 510 the best. But for the Prodigy I would go with the 801.

Hmm, I was expecting more people to respond to this, maybe I over estimated how many of us use the battery mods. If it helps I've narrowed my search down to 3 products:

AdapteveR - Ships internationally - Battery life via reviews (7 hours, half a day to a day and a half)

Prodigy - No international shipping - Battery life via reviews (3,5,7 hours everyone is different in their reviews... even from one review to the next from the same person.)

Light Vapor - Ships internationally - Battery life via reviews (5 - 7 hours)

So far I'm leaning towards the AdapteveR since it's the best reviewed for battery life and the international shipping makes my life a tone easier. I'd really like some more input from our members here though. I have yet to be disappointed on a product that the majority spoke up for. You are my cradle! Point me!

I use the V2 from vaprlife. takes a 14500 batty and lasts me all day no problem. Sometimes longer if you push it.

There are lots of good mods for sale on this forum. I have several and love them all/

Check out the mod section and see whats offered. Lots of cool mods that work well!

Bigger battys and power is where its at for me.. I'm not gonna fool with batty replacement all day long..

Same here, that's why this is important to me. If I'm not at my keyboard with the passthru I have to swap batteries almost as much as I top off a cart. I don't mind dealing with my liquid but add in the batteries too and it's taking up a good portion of time lol.... (I know the obvious reference to cigarettes taking up time, but I'm a vaper now and spoiled!)

I'll head to the modder area but it's hard to tell in there if a person is just showing off their mod or willing to manufacture and sell it as well.

get a "chuck"

ecf member jeffakamax makes them. They look great!

After browsing the modders forum (wow it's picked up speed in the past few months) I came across this and Cisco's laser pointer mod. I'm highly interested in both and if the price is right I'll probably get both. It boils down to battery life in the end. As I told someone else - I'd vape a turd if the battery lasted a good portion of the day. Luckily the modders in our community stray away from "turd" mods and come up with some beautiful stuff.

I have a Cisco Laser Mod and whilst it's very pleasing on the eye it only takes 10440 ( basically AAA battery size) it won't last you all day on a heavy vape.

I have the GGT as my main baby, it takes lots of different batteries including the 18650 that will last 24hrs plus and goes from 3.7 to 6v but cost a bit.

Shop around there's plenty to choose from :)

Are you, in your own opinion, a casual vaper or constant? I am a constant vaper and, as such, need a battery that will keep up. Right now I'm only getting by because of my passthrough.

I'm a very heavy, constant vaper. I use the Prodigy with the 801 although I also have the 901 adapter. With the supplied 750mAh batteries I regularly get 5 hours. You could also get some 1000mAh batteries that might get you up to 6 hours of heavy vaping. For long battery life the Screwdriver was the best (7 hours) but it is only 3.7 volt, of course.

I don't think you can find a better all around device than the Prodigy. The consistency and throat hit are better than any regular PV by a mile. The 6 volt GG gets about the same vape time on a charge.

Hope this helps.

I have a SD an adaptever and a bulli extreme, and can say they all have there merits and downfalls?

I think the adaptever is the most versatile in the ones I own, in that you can get 901/801/501 adaptors vape at 3.7v or with extension tube 6v or use a 18650 battery for 12hrs of heavy vaping!

did you see the review of mods here? may help/hinder your decision even more ha-ha!

which mod works best is somewhat subjective. i know many people who swear by the hv mods but they just don't work for me. i personally own a screwdriver, a prodigy, a gg, a jantystick and a silver bullet. even though it is a lower volt mod the silver bullet works best for me. i use it with the 901. i have never tried the 501 so i can't attest to that but i have used the 801 and the 901 and i like the 901 best. it works best for me. my mother on the other hand loves the prodigy with an 801. just depends on how you smoke and what you want. i am sorry, i know i probably wasn't much help but just wanted to pass along my experience

Only one person has mentioned the Silver Bullet, but I'd check into that one. Pre-order for the 2nd batch is going on now.

I don't have one yet, but I decided upon it over the prodigy/SD/etc because the reviews are very good for it...plus it looks better than all the others imo. From what I understand, you'll easily get a full day out of one battery.

Any high-voltage vaping device will perform similarly. You will get a better throat hit and better vapor with a higher voltage device. While hig-voltage vaping is not everyone's 'cup of tea', to me it is very analog-like, thereby satisfying. Your decision to go this direction, then, is based upon whether you want a totally mechanical device or an electrical devices. The former uses no wires, solder or electrical switches.

I made my decision (see my sig). You may be very well happy with an AdapteveR, Silver Bullet or Prodigy. All are nice devices and provide a very satisfying vaping experience. Look for features like form factor, safety features, button placement, etc. as things that you would be comfortable with.

The "rounded" Copper from AtmosUSA.biz PERIOD. It is the best analog replacement, and it satisfies all of your requirements. You will like dealing with Rick, too.
