Resistance Wire and Wick Supplier

I am looking for a good resistance wire and wick supplier so I can start building my own wicks. I am fairly sure it is an Akal wire and a "standard" wick but I am unsure as to where to find such objects. I have googled, but the results were very broad and I am in need of a little more specific information. If anyone can help me out I would be immensely appreciative.

zach...everything I've read so far says Kanthal wire and silica wicks. Now there are many variations in size of both as well. I have also seen some people use organic cotton for the wicking material.

I ordered some 32ga Kanthal and 3mm silica to start with but am thinking I should have ordered some 1mm and 2mm silica as well.

I'll second Lightning Vapes. Fast, decent prices, and I buy through their Amazon storefront because it's more convenient for me. They were the only place that had everything I wanted in stock at the same time, so that was a big bonus for me.

I would use Temco for all of your wire needs. For silica i would use Ebay, you can find great deals

If you are just starting out in building coils i would go for 32 gauge Kanthal. then order you some silica, ekowool, and get some 100% cottonballs, yarn, ect ect. I use cotton balls they are the best IMO. if you get Ekowool dont get the 3mm its very thick i would get the 1mm to start with. Ekowool is the next best thing to use IMO after cotton.

Ok I have a question about the cotton..

I've looked everywhere and can't it. And like a Google search brings up tampons. And cotton balls.. I'm not near a CVS this week seeing that this is my travel week. Would anything else work in it's place? I already have wicking material. But I wanna make a mico coil.. and its to thick to fit into the coil!

I'd say that as long as you make sure they're 100% cotton, you'd be fine.

You can buy sterile cotton balls anywhere... drug store, grocery store, hardware etc.

I use the CVS brand Organic Cottonballs.. Works good so far..
