First off, sorry for the atrocious grammar of the thread title, but'cha gotta be economical.
Anyway, I gave up analogues on News Year's eve 2008 and I said to myself that as long as I have the ecig then I can live without ciggies but I knew that without the ecig then I could never just give up and smoke nothing - I've tried several times and never lasted more than two days.
I started by using TW liquid, but I've now moved onto glycerin and food flavorings, 0% nicotine (and very cheap). One thing I've noticed recently is that I don't use the ecig nearly as much as I used to, it's as though I'm giving up smoking/vaping without really meaning to.
If ecigs were banned tomorrow I wouldn't even feel the urge to smoke again.
I never would have thought that possible two months ago, it's as though the ecig has given my mind time to adjust, which cold turkey would never have done.
All I have to pay for now are the atomizers, and I've got 8 fully working ones at the moment and a USB pass-through, I'm saving so much dosh, there's no way I'd ever be a smoker again. I may even call it a day with ecig in a few more months, because we don't know what the vapour is really doing to us.

Wow ... Congrats New Year Quitter ...

I actually quit cold turkey after years of unsuccessfully trying to quit. A few months later, found ecigs and the rest is history. My goal is to wean myself off nicotine all together again. I'm playing with a couple formulas to see if I can get a tasty zero nicotine liquid with a throat hit ... I love trying to make my own juice, because if you screw up, you have no one to blame but yourself !!!! haha ...

Congrats on being able to accomplish a huge feat both within the ecig world and out!

Congrats new year for coming this far. I'm hoping that in another month or so the same thing happens to me. I started ecigs 1 month ago and haven't looked back at analogs. Feeling much better and I have never been able to quit before, except for 2 months in the last 30 years so this has been a lifesaver for me. What I find though is I am constantly vaping, which is keeping me away from the analogs, but I'm vaping way more than I ever smoked. I am well stocked and always buying more supplies. If they are ever banned, I won't need to go back to analogs for a long time. That being said, I do hope that as time progresses I can cut back on these, but I find it too stressful to think about now. If I do end up vaping forever, it's still much better than smoking so I'll find the money somehow to keep my supply going.

If you do call it a day for the e-cig as well, then more power to you. Way to go not to be addicted to anything. I am already down to 0nic and have been for the last 3 months. But I do vape much more then I used to smoke. So for me it is just a habit I guess. If I do give everything the boot one day, it will not be as hard as I have no more nicotine addiction--Again, good job--Sun

I've been off analogs for 9 days and counting. I didn't intend to quit analogs completely--just cut down--but quitting was pretty easy with the e-cig.

That being said, it's just possible that when I manage to get down to very low or no nicotine levels in my ejuice, I just may find myself quitting even the e-cigs. However, I really doubt it. I enjoy inhaling and the ritual and habit associated with taking a moment for a quiet puff or two. :)

At this point, clearly still addicted to nicotine and inhaling, I'd be soooooo out of luck if e-cigs were banned. If I didn't find an underground source, I'd be back on analogs without a doubt. Oh, the horror! 8-o

It is all in the Flavoring--I use Lorann www.lorannoils.com and they blow you out of the room--lot of throat hit!! But watch out as these flavors are very strong so you only need a little--check the DYI liquid section here on the forum--Sun:)

Many people (myself included) have commented on how nasty real cigs taste when you try them again after using e-cigs for a while. My last analog was August of last year (2 weeks after using e-cigs exclusively), and the taste of it has pretty much put me off the idea of every trying them again.

If for some reason e-cigs get banned in the UK, which I have to hope isn't likely, then I reckon I would work my way down to 0 nicotine carts from what I have in my reserves and try and get myself smoke free. Easier said than done though...

For some reason tobacco does seem to taste far worse after a while of vaping, in fact the last tobacco cigarette I had made me feel a bit ill..... but I know if vaping gets banned I would still end up back on tobacco. I am quite sure the addiction would still be there if I didn't have these in place of tobacco ...... hopefully that might change when I have been vaping for a lot longer.

After vaping for 2 months, I took one hit off of a friends cigarette and coughed my brains out and it tasted vial--so going back to them would not be an option for me:(

It's weird because whenever I have had one of my attempts to give up smoking and gone cold turkey for a while.....it's always been absolute heaven to give up giving up and have a cigarette again......I wonder why vaping is making tobacco seem to taste so bad.

Pete--you must have lungs made out of steel!!!! Maybe vaping is like switching to a real low cig like Carlton, getting used to it, and then taking a hit off a Camel?? I do not know, but they now taste and smell vial to me--Sun
