Hey everyone, I would greatly appreciate any "healthy" atomizer/liquid choices after returning to vaping.

Short story: I quit vaping in Nov. 2012 because of *ridiculous* coughing fits. I worked out and did cardio daily too, didn't seem to have a problem until the 2 months leading up to quitting. It seemed like this stopped after I quit, though I still cough a little.

I switched to Walmart's Equate nicotine gum. 6 months later, I chipped a tooth, going to the dentist tomorrow (not insured). My gums/teeth are super healthy and it took very little pressure to chip it. I had very minor chips on front teeth as well. Wouldn't you know, I searched online and found that nicotine gum causes tooth erosion for many people and weakens enamel (along with hair loss, which I didn't experience)? Also worth noting is that people said the NICOTINE did this. I find it hard to believe that sugarless nicotine gum has another possible culprit ingredient which could cause this issue, unless we are talking about cheap Chinese nicotine extraction or these same pertinent issues with e-cigs.

Anyway while taking strong note of the above, can someone please recommend the "healthiest" atomizers (JOYe 510, or I'll get a new model), fluids from websites or specific brands (no DYI), and maybe personal stories such as switching from VG to PG and the coughing stops? And anyone care to speculate as Internet Doctor as to why nicotine gum causes these issues but as vapors we feel that we are safe?

This whole thing has made me very skeptical about nicotine, but vaping is WAY better than "chewing" so I'd rather switch for the moment in light of this tooth problem.

Thanks so much.

Maybe any gum chewed all day will cause same. That was the impression i got from such articles. Nicorette gum orginally was quite stiff. They gave warnings. " hard on dental work and teeth" They came out with a softer verion. I chewed 10 years. I think the more you chew in life the more chances you have for erroding teeth? Chipping accidentally. Biting the inside of your cheek? Id have to see the article to have any real opinion. Nicotine and tooth enamal...the relationship. Ir is the the sugar free candy coating? Or is it sugar free? I dont recall. I assumed i checked it one time but dont remember. It wouldnt have kept me from using it. I dont smoke. Smoking causes all kinds of problems but im a wreck without something. Hmmmm

so i wont recommend stuff because my approach is pretty tolerant. I snus, snuff and vape. No more gum! 10 years was plenty.

This was the resource I was reading, as it had personal experiences which all correlate with one another: http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=18612&name=NICORETTE&sort=age

The thing is I was reading through the health section here to find answers for something I posted about, and I saw a few stomach pain / gums bleeding (these weren't serious issues though when I read these) posts which people also posted about regarding the gum.

It's possible that the chewing was responsible but I don't know. The jaw bone reconstruction reports I could correlate in my mind to excessive chewing. Mostly when I think of nicotine gum I think of a rather soft material (the kind I got starts "hard" but you let it soften for a bit), and A LOT of saliva which is normally very healthy for teeth. All I know is that I was eating chicken wings like a normal human being (not gnawing on bones like a cave man) and i got a decent chip on a back tooth.

Thanks for listing your source. Im still not the right person to address your concerns. Im just happy i dont smoke, dont drink, get moderate excercise and im not overweight. I have mild asthma, low thyroid and i hurt in my neck shoulder and feet to the point of distraction. Im 60 so i think im doubgreat. I smoked 17 -ish years is all. Drank like a sailor though....until over three years ago. I just dont know how much we can protect our bodies from harm without going kind of neurotic! Especially with all the environmental problems of polluted fish, waters soils depleted of nutrients. On a moody day, depressed, i can go to a grocery store for food and talk myself out of almost everything there! Leave with a banana...you know? Thankfully i havent been bummed out like that in years. I hope someone comes up with the cleanest ejuice places for you. They are out there. I dont know them. They might charge extra? There are lots of 0 nic vapers too. Just bump your request

I consider the AVA atomiser to be the healthiest delivery system available (and the thermovape cera) - free of silica/solder/glue/fiberglass/paint/plastic that the regular atomiser uses. Made only from medical grade materials. Because it uses a ceramic plate instead of silica wick(effects?), you never get a horrible dry hit.

For the healthiest juices, i would say look for vendors that only use natural ingredients (no diacetyl, artificial sweeteners, flavorings or colouring). VG only and preferably comes in glass bottle (BPA risk). I personally refuse to order from any vendor that doesnt disclose what quality controls they have in place, what they have and don't have in their juices. "We only use the best ingredients and made in USA" that most only claim, is not personally good enough for me.

Hope my 2 cents help.
