Reverse Taryn spin to drain a carto

Occasionally you may want to drain a filled carto and save the juice.
Here is how I do it.

The reverse Taryn Spin

I remove the mouth cap and washer.
I put a condom on lightly (Not pushed way down on it)
I slide it into a battery sock, mouth end down.
I spin the living crap out of it.
I gently push the carto out of the sock.
Voila the juice is now out of the carto and in the condom.

Actually, I have use the reverse Taryn Spin method to dry carts, works quite well along with a good blow from the canned air used to dust computers or turkey basters work well, too!

Here is your answer to the spin sock. Just use one of the condoms, poke a hole in the center, and attach a string. Here is the punch you use to make the hole.

if anyone has ever worked in the restaurant biz,

maybe try one of the tiny "finger rubbers" as we called them.... their nice and small and should work if you dont have a batt bag...... (and i suppose if you dont have any minature rubbers around)

..if you never worked in a restaurant, many times they will have tiny latex or vinyl "finger condoms" to put over a cut on your...well, fingers of course... to keep food safety.

I always called them "rat rubbers"!

I refill about 20 cartos at a time, but I use a small women's sock to take them (all) for a spin.....

I use a syringe to empty a carto. I push the plunger all the way down 1st, insert the needle to the bottom of the carto (between the filler and the outside) and pull the plunger up slowly and steadily. I don't know how empty this gets that carto compared to the reverse spin, but the filling looks dry when I'm done and it's fast.

The spin technique has been working great for me. Thanks for sharing it! I use a plastic syringe case - 35ml is what I've got but 6 or 12ml would probably be better - with a string tied around it. Reverse spins have been the result of user error when I forget to put a plug in the battery end prior to spinning...

The Taryn spin is great idea. Kudos for that idea. The reverse spin though is perfect to dry out just rinsed carts. I hated blowing and blowing and I read it was bad idea to let open to dry. If they dry out too much they won't accept juice. I'm not sure if that's true but I don't want to take the chance.

Where is everyone getting their syringes? I'm assuming they are the ones with the needle...
