Yeah, even money for a bet. I think it depends on if you put both batteries in reverse or just one of them. Both, it's probably gone. But if they were working against each other, it might not have damaged it. Try it. If it's a parallel mod, try it with just one battery. Or, if you have a multimeter, and you can see the mosfet so you can tell which pin is what, you can test it.

Ok so i think i placed the polarity in reverse in my mod and it started to heat up and something was sizzling so i chucked the batteries. Do you guys think i did some damage to the mosfet or anything

Reversing the polarity across a MOSFET forces the current through a part of it called the "body diode". This generates a lot of heat compared to when the current flows in the right direction through the mosfet.

What was the resistance of your build? If enough current flowed to cause your batteries to leak, odds are the MOSFET is toast.

Do you have a single or dual battery mod? If dual, and you reversed one battery (and you didn't fuse each battery) then just the batteries will have fried. If a single battery mod, and you reversed the battery, the MOSFET is probably dead.
