Not sure where the "black" comes in but based on your your description I'm guessing Hypnotic Mist, which I find to be sweet with a peppery bottom note, is among the ingredients.

You may be right. I have a friend with some Hypnotic Mist I am gonna get her to let me drip some to refresh my memory. But it is peppery.
