How often do you use reviews before making a purchase?
I'm very like minded, I try to watch/read as many as I can on a product and hope the truth is somewhere in between, except when it comes to juice as this is very subjective due to so many things affecting the review and flavour e.g. personal preference, taste, coils, wattage used etc... The only time a juice review stands out is if it's of a product I like already and enjoy, I'll try to find reviews that I agree with 100% (I can then use them as a benchmark for other flavours) which then gives me confidence that other flavours they review I'd also agree with.Depends who is reviewing and what they are saying.
A high proportion of reviews are as good as fake and designed to carry on the despicable charade of affiliate/commission money-making going on in the e-cig industry.
I might read the information about the product on Spinfuel or Vaping 360 but i would never fully trust their opinion or click on their links. Not when these people promote Vaporfi and V2 as the "best" e-cigs.
I sometimes watch video reviews. Here again I rarely then buy the product at the shops that flash up on the screen during the presentation. I shop around, which is what we should all be doing rather than allowing the corporate brainwashing by the internet.
(Gosh... serious today...)
Thanks for the heads up and YouTube recommendations. When I first started vaping, I didn't do much research before I bought an Ego starter kit. I just wanted to find something better than the Njoy disposables I bought on a whim.
While waiting for it to arrive, I started watching Youtube reviews. Everyone had good things to say about the Innokin MVP 2 so I ordered one.
When I received the Ego kit, I was pretty sure I could quit smoking with vaping. A few days later, the MVP 2 arrived and I was sure I was on the right path.
I realized, after awhile, that reviews can be helpful but they don't tell much about durability. They use something for a few hours, days or minutes and then post a review.
I still watch and read reviews but I get more, in depth, information here. I don't just jump on something until others have used it for awhile and have good things to say.
My favorite Youtube reviewers are pbusardo (very long but very thorough) and Mike Vapes.
I use reviews on nearly all purchases. Written is the best form of communication, if I should have any questions from written, I will then turn to video. How often do you use reviews before making a purchase?
In what format do you prefer your reviews to be presented? i.e. video (YouTube) or written (blog/forum)
Do you find reviews influence your purchase decisions and if so are they influenced more/less with hardware compared with e-juice.
