So after getting my Vivi nova and not being able to vape it at all , I took the advice and decided to re wick it.
bought my coil wire and wick from house of vapor - Atomizer Coil Wire for DIY
Silica Wick material for DIY

Did my first one, making 6 or 7 coils and it worked a lot better than the stock, but still not great. Rewicked another and and only went for 4-5 coils and it was horrible. So I went back to my first and thought I'll give it a go for awhile. And it works but just isnt great. At 4 volts on my Rev 3 good vapor, almost no taste, very little throat hit, and I never get a consistent vape. At 5 volts it may be marginally better and at 6 its dry.

Im pretty disappointed bc I was trying to find something to replace my EMDCC's, but its just....blah.

Should I try a cotton wick? Ive heard good things with a cotton wick, or is this just as good as it gets with the nova?
Maybe a different coil wire? Do the bigger gauges ,make a difference?

I used to like the Ego tanks type B LR but they got to be too expensive and way too much upkeep ( had to pull it apart and clean it every 4-5 days). Which is why I switched to the EMDCC but I am sick of the way Cartos taste.

Does anyone have anymore input on the nova? Or maybe a suggestion to a good alternative, maybe something along the lines of the ego tank ?

The bottom coil Phoenix is really just awesome. I absolutely love them. I have no issues at all with them - and they have good flavor and great vapor. They are lasting a really long time. In a month, I have lost maybe one. I really do not need to look any further.

I did buy the ViVi when they first came out. Its ok. Does not compare in vape quality to the Phoenix imho.

I had a V1 Vivi Novi that worked okay. The V2.5 is really good....lots of changes, and I now have 3 of them going.

A lot of people really like the CE3. I tried them...found the flavor muted, and hated the syringe filling process. Others think the flavor is better. I think they are good....just not for me. I did get better flavor from the larger 3ml, and am still using a couple of them.

I'm not so sure that it's a difference of opinion, maybe you are doing something different if you have reworked it yourself. I really want to like this thing and have it be enjoyable.

On another note, has anyone tried the bottom coil Phoenix ? They seem to be getting good reviews

The weird thing is i didnt, I mean i dry burned the coil real quick just a few pulses out of the box and slapped it in, trimmed the wick back about a half inch and its awesome! someheads just seem incosistent, im still on my first head out of the box, well see as time goes on

I'm using one of the originals right now with a cotton wick, and it works pretty well. I do have to say that it's a pain to rebuild, in general, and cotton requires some experimentation.

In reply 33 of a rebuild tutorial thread, a method of doubling back and twisting the ends of the resistance wire is mentioned, instead of splicing non-resistant wire on each end. I used this method to ensure that the gasket does not burn.

The best results with cotton wicks that I have had is with a piece of cotton ball, spun into a 1.3mm or so dia. wick (not too tight!)

Been using a V1 Nova since the day they came out, and it works perfect for me. I see no need to go looking for V675. But I had to toss all the volt/ohm combinations I had been using with cartos out the window. They are not a Boge carto and function differently.
I guess the bottom line is you will either like the way they vape at the voltage they function properly at, or you won't.
If you feel the need to up the voltage to get the vape you want, I can promise you that you won't.

I use cotton candle wick. I think mine is a little too thick but it still works well and it makes the price of vaping go way down when you are just rebuilding them. I also am impressed with the Phoenix bottom coils. I use an Ego battery that came with a top sleeve that screws in to the Ego threads. Has a little cut out window lengthwise. Looks like a line ra tank, You can take iy anywere. Did you know the Phoenix atty is built pretty much the same as the Vivi? I'd consider a rebuild but I'm not sure of how secure the plastic tube is once it's been pulled off.

If you love to tinker, read and tinker some more the vivi nova is perfect for you. I don't have the time. I actually threw mine away because it wasnt worth any more of my time. I felt it was poorly designed, mine wouldnt even draw air through it until I modified it. I rewound the coils and even milled out the wick slot. No matter how much time and modifications it just never performed very well. I tossed it because it simply was a source of frustration and a waste of my time. I guess Im lucky I onlt bought one. A company that sells a product like that and considers that useable is a company that wont be selling me anything else. To say I don't like the vivi nova is being polite. I don't like buying junk.

Ive been ok with the flavor, the vapor production is just ok. But the throat hit is almost non existent. Thats really my big gripe with it. Haven't tried any wicks besides the thin strops of silica, perhaps cotton would give a better hit.

I may look into the stardust rebuildable. I got a LR stardust and that thing was great or throat hit. It just seemed to have a problem with juice condensation in the mouth piece and it was a juice hog
