I would like to be able to understand what you wrote a little bit better but I don't understand all the terminology related to metals. You said: "Pitting was the result." What exactly is pitting?

Pitting is a type of corrosion that in this case happens because of the very high temperature of the electrical arc (see below) that happens when shorting occurs.

Also: "There is not a real solution when arc happens." What is an arc?

I think he meant electrical arc which happens when there is current high enough to breakdown gas which makes it possible for current to pass through a non conductive area in this case the gap between the button post and the battery post.

Just my :2c:

Thanks race! I actually just found out what arc means in a different thread.

I appreciate your explanation. Maybe some day I'll get A+ in Metals 101 :)

Edit: So, is it possible that's what happened to my button post and why I couldn't clean it up with Flitz but had to sand it down? In a year and a half I've been vaping I've never had a short but I understand why on a GG with a floating pin it's more likely.

Imeo, thanks for reporting your findings. I'm sure everyone here appreciates you running these tests to find the best solutions for GG products.

As you can tell, I am not knowledgeable on even the basics of metals or the language surrounding it and I appreciate your help.

Thank you.

Pitting is those black marks on the contacts and its the result of the current when its so strong that burns them

Arc can happen to contacts that touch each other frequently like the button and the axis on front cap. It doent happen to GG floating pin on its connector. This pin is always on touch with the positive pole of the battery Vapor:)

Oh, I worded my last sentence poorly... I didn't mean that it happens to the floating pin. I was just suggesting that because the floating pin can be pushed up too far if the telescopic tube is tightened too much, the short is easier to achieve on a GG than most other mods and that's why I never experienced one before with other mods because I don't over-tighten my atties. Sorry for the confusion.

Well I know before I don't remember which thread you mentioned you might make some more brass buttons for those of us that want/love them.

I don't know how difficult it would be to make another run of brass flat top or rounded buttons but I think a run of adjustable brass buttons for "advanced users" would be great. I know the new style button is better in some ways but a lot of us just really like the old style buttons. My favorite button is my old brass rounded adjustable button because I can adjust the throw and I personally think it looks better.

Anyways this is all just my opinion.

That is the one I am looking for but maybe making taking a vote to see which people would like more. I know I would like to pick up a couple of either style.

either style? You mean flat and rounded head fright? Or maybe you mean something else?

I think the one thing that people agree upon is that we want the adjustable one like it was on the first couple versions of the ggts. If I had to choose between flat or rounded I would choose the flat top, I think those look awesome.
