I too saw that message on the LF site, but at the same time I've been told for years that "dumb" chargers sometimes need to be "reset" by unplugging from power before they begin a new charge cycle, otherwise the batteries do not take the charge as well. There is a better, more technical reason for this, but I'm not up to speed on the specifics.
As such I've always made this a habit, even with my camera/camcorder batteries, even the small "AA" charger for my NiMH batteries.
