Riva 901 with KR808D carts

I've been looking at fat battery solutions that would work with my KR808D carts.
Thanks to ECF, I found a great deal on a Riva 901 and I was about ready to pull the trigger on it, but I read a few posts here from folks that were having problems with the KR808D carts working with the Riva 901. I have a supply of black Royal Smoker CE2 carts that I bought from vaporite.
Has anyone tried this combination? I'd hate to buy the Riva and find out that it won't work with my carts. Thanks everyone!

Think that you mean Royal Smoker CE2 cartOs - as in cartomizer ? Makes a diff.
I'm not an expert on 808 and 901 stuff, but I mean to recall to have seen a problem with attaching some of the 808 carto's because of the edges on the carto's that would touch the battery sides before connection was made.
A 510 battery + a 510->901 adapter will get you some more space, at least. But it won't work for the looks off course. Just my opinion.

Edit: I'd say, go ahead with the 901 batt. If you get in trouble, this little fella will help ya.

you are probably going to have to buy 901 battery to 808 cartomizer adapter. I have a fat 808 battery and for some cartomizers i have to use that adapter. goodprophets.com is the cheapest when it comes to adapters

I use 808 cartos on my Riva 901 w/o an adaptor and it works just fine. I am going to get a 901/808 adaptor to try tho.

Half of my 808 cartos fit and 1 out of 5 clearomizers, which doesn't make sense to me. I ordered adapters from Good Prophets (.99¢) so I wouldn't have to guess.
Get the Riva.

If you really want to stay with 808s, look at the Elegant Easy at cigeasy and the pigcig at LeCig. Both are fat bats for the 808.

I've been using the Elegant for about a year now and certainly can recommend it. However, Liberty-Flight's $30 Riva-901 is half the price and that 99¢ "901batt-to-808carto" adapter from Good Prophets should enable you to use it with all Kr8 cartos (including the top-of-the-line MaxX Fusions).

Thank you all. I went with the adaptor that Don recommended and the Riva kit from Liberty-Flight's.
I did want to go with an eGo after reading so much positive here on ECF, but at almost half the price Riva won out...

Don: Can I ask you one last question - will the standard size KR808 cartomizers stick out far enough from the cone to keep the cone in place when I use it? Thanks!

I'm not Don but the cone screws on so it doesn't hold the carto in place. And the carto sticks out far enough that your lips are not resting on the cone. HTH.

Thanks for the reply - the Riva is on it's way to me.
One of the challenges with deciding to go with a big battery device is that they all look so large in their pictures.
It's hard to judge the size of the cones etc without anything to keep them in prospective in the photos.

They realy aren't that large, the Riva 901 battery is a little smaller than a dime in diameter and a little more than 2.5" long shorter than your standard bic lighter.

Glad that others have answered your question about cartomizers sticking out from the cone. I've never used the Riva-901, so I can't comment first hand. I will point out that the adapter will extend the carto an additional ~quarter inch.

Indeed, fat batts like the Riva, Elegant, and eGo are not large. The 650-750 mAh versions are even shorter than your standard Kr8 batteries. They're just fatter.

I got my Riva kit from Liberty-Flights in record time! Great company and I'll be using them again I'm sure.
This thing is fantastic! I'm using it with the adaptor Don suggested and my KR808 cartomizers work fine with it.
My concerns about the size were unfounded. As Don stated, somewhat shorter than the standard KR808, just fatter.
I find it to much more comfortable and easier to use than the manual KR808 battery. Thank you all for your advice, I won't be gong back to the long skinny batteries ever again and I can't believe this kit was almost half the price of the very first kit I bought when I first discovered vaping.
