For great sevice, shipping, and packaging. Oh, and your prices didn't hurt either :)

It really was so beautiful looking, I couldn't believe it. Nice box, user's manual, everything wrapped individually. If it vapes like it looks, I'm gonna love it...

Just wanted to post this while I'm doing the initial 8 hour charge on the battery.

Well, I bought a black one which came with gold trim and a blue led button. I like the look a lot.

Also, as far as the long charge goes, would anyone speculate as to why Riva would put it in the new manual? It doesn't explain why you are supposed to do the long charge, either.

one more thing: I found it interesting that the Riva manual refers to the device only as a
personal vaporizer, No use of the word "cigarette" to be found. Signs of things to come?

Here's what I've learned here, on ECF: Li-on batteries don't have any memory, which means, I believe, that performance and capacity aren't affected by how far you discharge them. I've even read some posts recommending frequent topping off instead of waiting for the batterey to be fully discharged before recharging. Other sciency gurus recommend that you should take them out of the charger as soon as you get a green light to avoid overcharging, which could, perhaps, adversely affect their performance. However, I believe that the batteries have some protectors built in that prevent overcharging.

And, as Paula and others have said before: one should never charge the batteries unattended; these batteries and chargers are mass produced with very poor QC and any malfunction could result in fire or venting or Lord only knows what.

Cee_Jay, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Hey, thanks Katya! Thanks to you and Cee_Jay, I cut the long charge short, blew out the atty as best I could, filled the cart, put it together and Wow! Lots and lots of vapor with a pg50%/vg50% juice, especially compared to my KR8/cartomizer rig that I've been using. And I do appreciate the extended explanation, too. I'm not much of a sciency guy myself. Will always charge the batteries while I'm around, I promise! :)

A friend of mine had a Riva battery go out within 3 months (unfortunately, she did not purchase hers from LF or she could have gotten a replacement). I took her battery to my house to make sure she was correct in her assumption that it was bad and after about an hour, I saw that the light never did turn green. When I went to unscrew it from the charger it was HOT, HOT, HOT!!! I don't want to think about what would have happened had I left it on the charger overnight, unattended!!
