They are both excellent units. The Riva is an eGo knock off so they are almost identical. The biggest difference between the two....
The eGo has a plastic button, which if dropped can shatter. It also has a nice finish that doesn't easily rub off.
The Riva has a soft rubber button that shouldn't be damaged if dropped, but it's finish is some what cheap and easily wears off.

Both are good it just depends on your needs and wants.

Not identical.

The latest Eastmall versions of Riva 510 and all Eastmall Riva 510 SE kits are are 3.7v. Egos are switched voltage that averages out to about 3.4v. And the very latest Riva 510 SE from Eastmall has a 3-click on/off feature added.

I like the 3.7v Riva 510 because I can take a standard res carto off my slim 510 (3.4v) and put it on the Riva 510 and it will be hotter and give a bigger drag. Also the Riva matches the 3.7v voltage on my KR808D-1 models so with an adapter I can use my KR8 cartos on the Riva and they are the same heat, not cooler.

The older Eastmall Rivas and the SLB ones and any others are not 3.7v.

Re Ego and Ego-T - 3.4v and the battery difference is that the T batteries (at least the real Joyetech Ego-T batteries) have a 5-click on/off. As for the kits - the T kits are tank unit with tank atomizer and tanks - some like them and some hate them.

Well you could buy the SE and then you would know you are getting 3.7v. Or you could ask them if their other Riva 510 kits are the new 3.7v style. No other way to tell really. The engraved Riva logo on the outside of the threaded part of the battery got bigger but that was not exactly in sync with the power change (logo got bigger first, then power change).

And just FYI - given where you live and the difficulty of getting ecig stuff, you might consider getting a 3.7v mod like the Indulgence (should be at the Eastmall store). Mods take standard industrial protected or AW IMR lithium ion batteries (they usually need to ones with the button end on the positive terminal, not the flat end). Another mod is the Bauway 510-N which I think you may find at Bogetech in China?

And for any of these, get drip tip, plenty of spare atomizers, spare charger if it's a proprietary charger (Indulgence may need you to buy the batteries and standard charger elsewhere), and I recommend cartomizers (Boge are most popular for 510-threaded devices) and you need eliquid (I think Boges work best with thin liquids very low on VG like PG w/ 10-20% VG or 0%)

kandarv - Try cartomizers - they hold more liquid (though you still need to keep them damp or they will singe and ruin the flavor, and they have limited lives - I can get 10 days use out of one). Do you have a way to get Boge cartomizers? The 3 ohm ones are nicely warm on the 3.7v Riva and the 2 ohm ones are hotter. I use thin juices with them (20% or less VG)

You asked about the ego-t and I didn't see any responses about that so my advice is to not go with an ego-t but stick with a Riva or reg ego. The tanks are nice since they hold more juice and you can see how much juice is left but the draw on an ego-t is pretty hard and they are prone to leaking but they might have fixed that on the later models because I haven't had any leaking problems with mine yet. But the draw being too tight and the flavor being muted has had me reconsider whether I like it or not. The good thing about them is their batteries. They have the 4 click on/off.

Thanks, I've ordered some dual coil cartomizers. I'll check the Boge's in the future.

When I posted this I'll already ordered my Tornado Tank. Now I'm vaping with it, total different story I'm loving the tank system and as new as I am can't tell if the flavor is being muted or not I'm just enjoying the convenience of not almost dripping directly to the atty.

Good. I'm glad you found one that works like it's suppose to.

Lately, I've been vaping with Dual Coil XL cartomiser or LR atty's (the ones that came with my UltraMax) and it's a whole different story from the Tornado-T.

I feel like there's a lot more flavor coming from the DCCartos than from the Tornado-T using the same juice.

Don't know yet if it's because of the RES system, the LR atty or because the UltraMax is far more sexy than the Tornado :2cool:. But there it is definitely a different experience.

The new Eastmall Rivas are higher voltage than Ego and give more heat out of the same attachments. Ego is switched regulated oscillating between 3.2 and 3.6v to make an even 3.4v average. The Eastmall-made Riva 510 and Riva 510 SE are now 3.7v and are even higher right off the charger. Near the end of their charge they may drop a bit lower than Ego. Liberty-Flights.com Riva 510 kits are all new Eastmall stock and their Riva 510 SE batteries are definitely 3.7v (because the SE started as 3.7v)

So Ego or Riva depends on how you want to use it. I already vape a 3.7v slim ecig (Vapor4Life which is a KR808D-1) and I vape manual slim 510's (around 3.4v) so I am using standard resistance cartomizers. With my big battery model I wanted to be able to get more heat out of my 510's cartos and have the same heat I expect for my KR808D-1's carto (using an adapter) so I needed 3.7v. If instead you plan to use low resistance hotter attachments (that slim ecigs can't use) then it doesn't matter which you get - you will choose the heat/ohms you want for your attachments.
