Supe, a couple of things that might help people new to an RM2.
Because of the screw-on cap, I take note of where exactly the coil has to be placed in relation to the air hole, by checking if the coil should be offset from the squonk hole and by how much, or just sitting beside the squonk hole or whatever. Another way might be to mark the outside of the base with a felt tip pen directly below the air hole to mark where the center of the coil should be placed. I feel a lot of people who are new to RM2's overlook this simple but important step, and its difficult to move the coil sideways after the screws are tightened. Its sort of too late after the cap is screwed on and the coil and air hole don't align
Another point might be to show people how to file or sand the ridges off the bottom of the wire capture screws to prevent them slicing the wires. Every new atty I've bought gets this treatment, otherwise the ohms can drift high intermittently. Today I replaced a coil that drifted high just a little bit, enough to notice the change in
vape, confirmed by the multimeter, I fitted a new coil and checked the screws, they had not been sanded smooth, I had missed doing them.
Checking the height of the coil - this is never shown in any vids by anyone that I've ever seen. It's a critical setting as you know. Usually I place the atty cap beside the atty base but resting on the lip of the base of the atty with the air hole directly facing the coil, and check that the coil is at the exact same height as the air hole. Another way is to measure the height of the air hole from the base of the cap and transfer the ruler to the atty base and measure the height of the center of the coil to get it right. 20 thousands of an inch to high or too low can make a difference.
These are really basic tips and so obvious to experienced vapers that it never really occurs to us to explain it in much detail. I have a lot of experience teaching apprentices in a technical hands-on field, which is what rebuilding atties is IMO, hence I came up with these suggestions. The fact that rebuilding is really not that simple a task, but you convince everyone it is, which gives them confidence, and you have shown them how to do it successfully, is a great strength of your vids and a great credit to you, you are a natural teacher. Hmmm a super natural teacher
Hey I have a little gift for you Super_X. Its a song I wrote, sang and played guitar on, we were a 3-piece band, called the "Metho Blasters", in the late 80's. The link will be good for 2 days then I'll take it down so grab a copy if you like it
