ok a few questions ... i am not sure if i am using to much cotton ... i leave about 1/2" on each side of the coil and gently push the excess down and around into the bowl area ... but not obstructing the coil ...

i do notice that i often times end up with to much juice inside the RM2 and have to just dab some excess off every now and then ...

is it retaining to much of it because of the amount of cotton i use?

That happens to my RM2 when i squonk too much.

So.... got my Reo VV and RM2 from classifieds today (trade for a Reo Grand non VV and some cash).... Im LOVING the performance of the Reo Vv and RM2. I like it better than my provari and IGO-W.

So... one gripe I have with the RM2 is the threaded cap. My airhole doesnt even come close to the where the coil is. Do any of the mentioned atomizers in this thread come ready for bottom feeding? (ie I wont have to mod anything but maybe drilling out the airhole?) I much prefer a O-ring cap vs threaded.

I havent noticed that so far...even if I flood the RM2 with the squonking. Make sure your cotton isnt blocking the hole or path back to the hole. I have my cotton just long enough to go around each post.

1/2" on each side is excessive. I find that around 1/8" is much better.

Do you have the o ring in the catchcup? It helps with positioning the air hole. If you have, try a thicker o ring. Do not over tighten the rm2, all you need is contact to fire.

going to rebuild my coil tonight and try less length to the cotton but maybe a little more thickness to it .. and see how that works for me ...

have replaced the cotton twice in my setup so far .. and can not get the coil to clean back up ... guess the juice i am using is to bad or something ... no amount of burning it or rinsing it afterwards will get it anything other then solid black after a bottle full.

I do have the Oring in the dripwell of the Reo. dont have a spare for the connection between the cap and base of the atty. Anyone know where and what size Oring to get for the base to Cap connection?

Dan, that's exactly why I made this man. I was in your shoes (except with cartos) about 8 months ago. Then when I got my first RBA and I realized how easy it was I became a freak about trying to spread the word. We didn't even have the RM2 back then.

With an RM2, it's very easy to build, position your coil for your flavor / TH preference and wick.

Below was one of my first RBA builds ever on a hornet. We've come a long way since then :)

Just speculating but I think Jaytater has that bad blue grand now :)

My second ever attempt at building a coil. 10 wraps of 30 gauge Kanthal 1/16 " inner diameter measuring at 2.4 ohm. Cotton ball wick. So far, I'm extremely impressed, good throat hit and flavor. Coil is about the height of the top of the posts. Anyone have any suggestions for improvements?

Made an 8 wrap coil, placement is still not quite right, for some reason getting the coil in the right position is the hardest part for me. measuring in at 1.8 ohms now, and I can taste my juices again! Nothing like getting that fresh atomizer performance and taste whenever you want for just pennies worth of wire and cotton! Thanks super_x and everyone else for the helpful info.

What works for me is leaving the drill bit (or whatever you use) inside the coil. Put the legs through the post holes. Pull the legs for initial positioning. Hold onto the drill bit with one hand to ensure the coil does not move - then fasten one post screw just till it holds. Re-position coil if required. Fasten 2nd post screw just till it holds. Do final positioning, fasten screws tight. Remove drill bit.

My first attempt after I got my RM2 and just finished watching super_x's video, 27g Kanthal 9/10 wraps on 1.4mm screwdriver, read 0.86 ohms, it's vaping phenomenally ! Big thanks to super_x once again ! I'm never going back to attys again haha. Any tips, suggestions on how to get 1ohm and below on a 30g wire, using 1.4mm-2mm drivers?

P.S. Boba's bounty never tasted so goood

Always good to have new Reonauts moving into Reoville. Trash pickup is on Wednesdays. There will be a lecture this Thursday at 7:30 PM. Harley05 (Ed) will be the speaker. This weeks topic, "How to vape while driving a motorcycle. Keeping it Safe." See you in the Church of Ohm's basement for this long awaited presentation. Vaping allowed. Coffee and egg rolls will be served.
