I have been vaping for 2.5 months now. My first and only e-cig was the Npro(RN4081).

I have been viewing here that this is an inferior product. In lieu to this idea I recently ordered a DSE901 which I have been hearing rave reviews on. I have not received it yet, but, I got, to tell you in retrospect that this RN 4081 is quite a Diehard.

To date I am still on original batts and atty. The vape and throat hit are still tremendous.

This little 901 has some big shoes to fill!!

I understand it may have a smoother hit or something, but, can anyone comment on its durability? Especially the attys?

There is a lot of confusion on these forums with regards to the 4081. It is actually a very good product but many people are unable to separate the ridiculous prices that are charged from the actual performance.

I went through the same thing as you and bought into the hype about the 901 and to be perfectly honest I found it to be no better than the 4081 in performance.

The only noticeable difference for me was that the 901 I got was totally unreliable. Both batteries and the atomizer from my starter kit have all died in under a month.

RN4081 is a super mini, Dse-901 is a regular mini. It depends on the way you vape. I would think the battery on the DSE-901 would hold a larger charge as well as having a slightly larger cartidge.
Great!

My main concern is the atty? I'm still on original RN 4081 and it is kickin. I do regularly blow it our and sit it on its non-batt side..

No argument from me on the RN4081. I have an NPRO and a PeeWee, all batteries and atomizers going strong for 2-1/2+ months (my husband is using the NPRO now, but he still hasn't given up analogs).

I mostly use a pass-through, though, since I work at home. *Love* the passthrough!

I've been tempted to get the 510, since I've read such rave reviews, but until we know what's going to happen with the #$*@(# FDA, I think I'll just buy stuff for the model I already own. And really, I'm very happy with the RN4081 ... nothing to compare it with, but hey, I have no desire for an analog! :D

The problem with me on the super minis is it seems you need to top off after 40 puffs?

That's a common complaint. It doesn't bother me. I like to switch flavors often, anyway, plus I think it keeps me from over-vaping.... At least it makes me more conscious of how much I'm vaping.... Er, or I just wait until I get nauseated....

I don't bother topping off my 4081 anymore. It got too tiresome. I use my 901 for my walking around/driving/at work unit, and the 4081 I just use for dripping when at home. I estimate one or two drops of liquid right on the atomizer equals about a single cigarette if not two. Its easier than refilling the carts, but you have to be careful not to flood the atty or worse yet, the battery.

From my experience, the battery seems to be near identical in lifespan to my 901 (of course I take deeper drags with the 901), lasting about 3-5 hours depending on my frequency of use.

I would rather just use it as my backup/home pv since I don't want to feel too bad for paying so much for it (I have the NPro and one cobbled together from spare parts from a number of other vendors).

You know maybe this might sound crazy to some of you or maybe I don't chain as much as I feel that I do, but, my batts for the RN4081-one charged batt last me all day at work. Then when I get home I switch to an juiced one and it last all night.

This is much more batt life than other experiences I have heard on the forum.

Battery life on all e-cigs varies a great deal based on usage habits. I normally get 5 or 6 hours out of a 4081 battery at work but at home sitting in front of the computer I can kill one in 1 to 2 hours.

i love all my 4081's all from different companies, I have the SE gold, Npro, generic 4081 in the blue box, Mini Royal, and a few promotional stamped e cigs with the logo of a bar on it(the only ones i've seen with this!). I find they hold up to the rigors of everyday vaping, i never really re-fill them i just get cartridges once a month in bulk and swap them out when they dry up, its easy on the go. I seem to always have a problem with batteries that get stuck "ON" though. It has happened with about 8 batteries and i just chuck them in my spare part box. Anyone get that? I'll be vaping and like every puff the LED just stays on and then times-out and blinks. It's useable but its soooo annoying, how do you fix this?

Have had my NPRO (4081) for 4 weeks now and I use one battery at my 10 hour work day (vape during my two 15 minute breaks and my 30 minute lunch and a couple puffs when I use the bathroom) and then I get home put that battery on the charger and put the other battery in, which doesn't seem to work as good but holds me over until the other one is charged. Been working good, about to get a 510 manual switch just to give that a shot, but I have no plans in never using the 4081 again, I like it, vapor could be a slight bit more but it's been working great so far, same batteries and atomizer.

I get that to sometimes and just shaking it will get it to go off most of the time, it is a bit annoying but since it still works I don't let it get to me. One thing I don't like about it doing that is that when it's doing that it's burning off some of the liquid I just dripped on the atty

I have the SE gold and really have no complaints about it. I have only be vaping for about two weeks and it really is nice for me at my office and while I'm driving our company truck. I have been kinda on a buy spree though. I have placed an order for a cig easy and also a 901. Once I get those they will replace my 4081 because its just to inconsistent for me through out the day. I guess that's really my only complaint about it.

we started out with 4081's, and they are still our workhorses. we have piles of attys, batts, carts, passthroughs etc. for these guys and they are all still trucking. Have not had one atomizer failure. My wife and i have both been on the same atomizers here for a week (after a cleaning, the atty's in both of ours are about a month old), but, after a week, the are still gurgling and giving huge vapor.

they are very, very underrated. I've tried a number of other options, but i always go back to the 4081's. i.e. i'll take my 401 to work with me, but if i have a glass of wine and want that type of vape (you know), it just don't cut it... the 4081 does.

for the size, the vapor and throathit are very impressive. If i get my passthrough plugged in, usu that will take me to the point of needing to lie down (esp w/ 36mg juice).
for being a little bugger, they hit really damn big...

The 4081 rocks!!!

I think they get a bad rap because they are typically the 'branded' Smoking Everywhere or N-Pro types which sell these things for MUCH more than you can get them online. I paid over 100 bucks for my SE Gold which only had one complete e-cig and a USB charger. Also, the sales guy was an idiot that filled my head with misinformation.

I still love it although I primarily use my 510 all the time now. I pretty much lend my 4081 kits out to people interested in e-cigs. It's a great starter e-cig and is great for beginners. However, once you get used to vaping, the best upgrade after it is the 510.
