Hey all - I got my vp2 in the mail a couple of days ago and am having a little bit of difficulty (not with the vp2 itself, just the attys.) Freshly charged battery - pop on a brand new 801 atty w/ factory filled cart and poof! Clouds of vapor, insane clouds. I take long slow pulls (mouth draw around 8-9 seconds). Then, the next day, performance drops off considerably. I'm still getting vapor but nothing like when I first put the atty and fresh cart on. Try dripping-same. Cart mod-same. So...

Pull off the 801 and put on a new RN4072 atty w/ fresh factory cart. Poof! Magically huge clouds of vapor, then - performance drops considerably. Again, still getting vapor but no where near what I was yesterday!

What the heck is going on here?! I've blown out the attys, tried dripping, tried another fresh cartridge, tried fresh batteries - yet nothing I do will re-create the vapor/TH I was getting initially with both of these attys. Are they just sub-par? Do you folks usually get "great" performance for longer than a half day? Am I drawing to long on the atty and shortening its life?

I'm currently using 302 and BE112 atomizers and Tasty Vapor juice, but on a 5 volt Prodigy. The BE112s last longer but seem to clog more quickly; the 302s put out more vapor and have an lighter draw but can develop a burnt taste quite easily.

I suggest you try the 302 atty. You are the only one who can determine whether it works best for your circumstances.

I'm having a similar problem with my 4072s and 801s. I still get good vapor and an easy draw (if you ignore the whitling that just seems to go with these bigger carts.) Mine have developed a burnt taste - kind of like when you let the coffee pot cook dry. I've tried cleaning them in PGA, but the taste comes back after a few hours.

I know that is no help whatsoever to you, but maybe together we can figure out our collective problems.

I have noticed I have to blow out my atties every day or so. They tend to collect a lot of juice in there. At night I put the atties (batt end up) in a cup with a paper towel in the bottom to drain out. It helps a bit.

I find that both heavily-colored liquids and VG trash 801 attys very quickly. My 510s seem to handle VG and coloring much better...

So, I suggest either moving to lighter colored liquids or switching to the 510. Powering an 801 at 3.7 volts is not an easy thing to maintain IMO. ;-)

I'm glad that you posted this, I have been noticing the same thing with my 4072 and 112 attys since I started adding flavorings and using more VG, it sure seems to clog them up much faster. I thought maybe it was just me.

I am using juice from Tasty Vapor - mixed50/50, pg/vg.

Synthnadz - do you run a 3.7 volt mod? what atty do you prefer?

What about the Joye302's? I have read here that those seem to be a good replacement for the 801 attys.

I do not use anything at 3.7 volts right now, but I certainly have in the recent past. For me, the only atty that's worth running on a 3.7v mod is the 510. 801's require more power, and are better suited for 5v / 6v mods.

The 302's are pretty much the same as RN4072's, and I do not like them as much as the BE112, FWIW.

In short, I've found that to use an 801 I need to run at least 5 volts and only use liquids that are not heavily colored. This is the only way I can enjoy them for more than a few days after cracking them open. ;-)
