Has any found a supplier or company that has tobacco e-juice like or very similar to MFS Turbosmog, Tall Paul, or Red Luck?

Greetings.

I just wrote an entire post that got lost when the site asked me to log in again.
So I'll summarize: The tobacco samplers are all completely unvapable. I was quite surprised considering all the reviews I read/watched. Poison reminded me of the generic, Chinese liquids with mock-cigarette names I was first introduced to in 2010. They are sickeningly sweet combined with that tell-tale ashtray smell that is lingering in my home a full 30 minutes after sampling. I'm so very upset. The other flavors (nutty tobacco, Jy4, J55, CigRoar) are all definitely based on Poison, so my reaction was identical: nausea.

I certainly don't want to be rude, and I do recognize that tastes are subjective, but it's difficult to believe that I'm so very different from the overwhelming consensus on the quality of these flavors. I am also skeptical that these could possibly be that amazing after x number of weeks steeping, since that ashtray odor won't even leave my clothes.

I only explored outwards because Alien Visions has been so difficult to access recently.

PLEASE will someone take these off my hands as a trade for some Bobas, Gorilla, or something non-tobacco but not overly candy?

Best,
Mike

Ok, ok. I may have been hasty. My desire for nicotine insisted that I give it another go. So this time, I cleaned out a 510 atty (I usually use a regular 306 with a ~5v passthrough, because I find it intensifies the flavor). The difference was quite significant.

While Poison has now been upgraded to vapable (much like bud light advertises itself as "drinkable"), the JY4, the Nutty Tobacco, and the J55 are now a bit more interesting. One of them may even grow on me.

I should be clear that a truly awesome juice doesn't require getting used to or even steeping. Some get better, but they start from great and move upwards from there. Also, the device might change the complexity, but not the vapability.

I recant my initial reactions fueled by the shock and frustration of a fairly gross experience. That said, since this is the second post in the thread, I won't change my initial post so that people who experience something similar may give it a couple days.

Mike

P.S. there was a free "Passion" sample in the order. Now, I'm not a fruity vaper, but this might be the turning point for me. Even with zero nic, it was still fun to vape. It tasted exactly like a passion fruit candy and was absolutely delicious. Totally worth adding some nic to, and I'm considering a fruit order from Roar in the future.

I did not like the JY4, Poison or Cigroar at all when I got them. Waited about 3-4 days after arrival to taste them and they all had a chemical/something weird taste to them. The Nutty Tobacco and J55 both tasted really good to me though after those 3-4 days. J55 was much more of a richer taste than the Nutty Tobacco. I uncapped and took the dripper tip out of the JY4, Poison and Cigroar and let them sit like that for about 18 hours. I then tasted the JY4 and it had a much better taste, most of the chemical/perfume whatever you want to call it, taste had gone away. Capped it back up, let it sit for another couple of days, took the cap and tip back off and let it sit maybe 12 hours. Taste was still getting better, more of the tobacco/sweets that I was expecting. Haven't tried the Poison or Cigroar again after that process. Like you said, maybe they just need to sit, air out, and be shook up every now and then.

Oh and I also had Truth Serum(Pear and Coconut Cream), Green Peach Tea(tasted like Lipton Green Tea with citrus), Hawaiin Sunrise(Banana Runt all the way), and Antidote(Blueberry Lemonade, still growing on me). All of these flavors I really like. Guess I should tell you I ordered those 30/70 PG/VG 2% menthol and the tobacco flavors were 50/50 no menthol.

Thanks for the insight and encouraging words.

It's crazy that there can be that much of a difference after steeping/airing out.

I remember after finishing a large batch of Boba's, I ordered more and thought Ben had changed the recipe on me. He said, "nope".

I think its that the juice changed dramatically over the couple months of sitting. Also I think I got used to the diminished nic level, because I got strung out on the new batch.

I'll report back as the juices change. Right now, there's a distinct caramel coming through the JY4.

I liked the tobacco sampler I got from Roar except Poison and Cigroar. They are both still unvapable even after a three month steep.

Its strange I liked the J55 and the nutty tobacco. And my wife loved the JY4. Even though they use Poison as the base, I enjoy those. It did take a good steep for the sweetness and nuttiness to blend in nicely though.

Roar is definitely known more for their fruit blends.

A friend of mine bought a bottle of Raging B.... at his local B&M a couple months ago (10 ml, 50/50, 24 mg). He said he found it disgusting. He finally gave it to me last week and I immediately put it into a clean MT3 and gave it a vape. I told him he was crazy. Maybe it was the fact that he tried it right away (born on date is 4/6/13) and it needed time to steep. Either way, I found it quite delicious and very reminiscent of Starbuck's Frappuccino you can get at your local Shop 'N Rob.

The two best pieces of information I can recommend to you:

1) Take e-liquid reviews with a GRAIN OF SALT. There are QUITE a few REALLY popular vendors on here that I've tried, that I couldn't believe are even MENTIONED on this forum, the e-liquids were that bad to me. Taste is more subjective than most realize....

2) I WOULD, however, use the e-liquid reviews on this forum to determine what each e-liquid vendor SPECIALIZES in. For instance, Roar isn't really known for their tobaccos. Therefore, they really shouldn't be high on your list of vendors to try if you are looking for TOBACCO flavored e-liquid.

Roar is known for their fruit flavors. And I have to say, so far, they are the BEST vendor I've tried.....their Chocolate Dipped Nana, and their fruit liquids blow away any other e-liquid I've tried to date.

One more piece of advice:

3) The other way to use e-liquid reviews effectively.....is to find some members on the forum who have similar tastes to you. For instance, what are your 3 favorite e-liquid vendors? Try to find a reviewer that enjoys at least 1-2 of those 3 as much as you do. That should let you know that you both have similar tastes, and are seeking out similar flavor profiles.....and then you can go from there. I've found that is the best way to use e-liquid reviews.

For instance, I don't care much for HHV. Apparently they do tobaccos REALLY well, I don't know, I haven't tried, and I'm not really looking for tobacco flavors. Anyway, since I didn't care for HHV.....if I find a reviewer who LOVES HHV.....that tells me I probably have a different taste as them. Therefore, I'm not interested in which e-liquid vendors THEY really enjoy.

Since I REALLY like Roar.....when I see e-liquid reviewers who like Roar as well, I know that I will probably enjoy other vendors THEY really enjoy. See what I mean?

Best of luck!

That was great advice! I hadn't thought of that. In the last few years, it appears that Boba's has become so ubiquitous that I'm not sure following reviews of people who like Boba's would narrow the field for me. That said, if I find a reviewer who isn't absolutely smitten with Boba's then I now know to hesitate at any of their other reviews for the reasons you mention.

Noted!

like doritos sometimes they are over-seasoned and then under-seasoned.

some of my homemade juices are so sensitive that if I detour recipe and add one more drop of flavor the whole batch is ruined
making me have to add back some vg or pg to re balance it, will mute flavor, it is very difficult at that point.

coil gunking pralines and cream is one of those type mixes

great advice review on Roar being a fruit premier as I have only had the fruity side

Ok, one last follow-up. The juices have now transformed on my palate to the following:

Cigroar - vapable out of necessity only
Poison - totally tolerable.
nutty tobacco - good. Perhaps the closest to a tobacco vape of the lot...though to be clear, not really tobacco
jy4 - rather good, though it smells better than it tastes
j55 - delicious and far more complex than originally

I'm not sure if steeping was the key or if my desire for nicotine changed my taste buds. I know that with certain foods, I've been able to change my tastes just from repetition and exploration. I suppose the true test would be for those of you who try a juice then throw into a box for a month before trying them again.

Sorry for dragging this thread back up, but my hope is that a follow-up is helpful and does the juice more justice.
