I received a third reo grand today, an olive drab that I've been drooling over for months. It looks fantastic with a brass rm2.
But what really makes my day are these new contacts. In my copper vein grand I've been running stock upper with a 10amp fuse for the negative. With a fresh aw imr 18650 1600mah, 4.18 on the battery. 1.2Ω coil was giving me 3.97 at the post under load. So I was hoping for at least equal to that with the rebuild kit.
After installing the kit, (thanks to Rob and Russ for the vids) imagine my surprise when I fired her and got 4.03v at the post. After becoming so accustomed to seeing 3.97 or 3.98, it sorta threw me at first and I thought my multimeter was set wrong or something. Then I realized what I was seeing.
.15 vdrop. Aye, if I sound thrilled mates it's because I am. You have nailed it Rob and I wish to personally thank you for all the time, trouble and especially the perseverance you showed to finally make it happen. I have fallen in love with this mod all over again.
I salute you sir.
That is all.
P.S. Bring on the brass doors.
