It's a secret!
My first review!

I have been vaping since January of this year. I've used volcano super-mini cigs, 801, 510, Rivia, Ego and hello 016. So the Roughstack is my first venture into a true mod.

I had been considering a mini-vapestack from madvapes for a while only to find that they were out of stock when I wanted one. BUT, Hoogie let me know about a new item they had just gotten in so I gave it a try.

Rough Stack

The Roughstack is the same diameter as a quarter and about the height of a D battery. It EASILY fits in your fist for stealth vaping. It's powered by a single 18350 1200 mah battery and lasts me a good day of off and on chain-vaping.

It's called the rough stack for a couple reasons. It's a "raw" aluminum finish. It's not polished or painted. The texture is great, smooth but not slick and the color is just the gray color of unpolished metal. It can take a beating (as I've dropped it on both concrete and my kitchen floor a few times already) without any noticeable damage. I'm sure it could be painted easily with automotive paint.

In addition to the durability, the unit is also designed so that the top-mounted switch is easily replaceable should it ever need to be. The switch is held in by a hex nut. Unscrew it and the "guts" of the unit can be removed and swapped out.

It's a simple design that works really well. I've been using a LR 510 atty most of the time and have found my vaping sweet spot. Clouds of warm vapor.

The price for a Rough Stack kit -- batteries/charger and all - is only $75 bucks. The unit by itself is listed at $45 so you can't go wrong if you want to try your first mod, or if you want to add another mod to your collection.

801 Cartomizer.

Black 801 Cartomizer

I'm normally not a huge fan of cartomizers. However, this one holds a LOT of juice (30-40 drops). Puts out vapor as good as a normal 801. Less than a 510, but still good vapor production. The mouthpiece is also made of hard plastic and not soft rubber like most of the 801 tips. I'm a pipe and cigar smoker, so putting this on the Rough Stack is an easy way to mimic pipe-smoking for me.

Very happy with both!

Thanks for the review. I just ordered one tonight before I read your review.

I need something that can take a beating like when one drops from a distance to rocks or concrete when I'm outside working or like that time when a sneaky puppy threw a mod box to the floor when I caught her stealing it, the little b*tch; chipped a latch nib and edge of lid even though the floor was vinyl. (I won't do a chew test with it. I know my younguns can destroy just about anything.)

I'm always afraid that any of my PVs are going to get crushed or bent even if they are in my work apron pocket. I have high hopes for the durability of the RoughStak. It's just what I was wishing for. Low and behold when I went to MV tonight, to order some batteries, there it was.

Yeah, the rough stack cranks with an LR atty.

Glad the review was helpful. I've dropped this thing I don't know how many times, mostly on concrete. I have a habit of putting it in my lap while I'm in the car, then I forget and get out of the car and it smacks right into the driveway every time. Hasn't caused any problems so far.
