I have noticed that in the mornings the first 5 or so drags off my 510 are very rough - even to the point where I will begin to cough a lot because of the rough sort of burning feeling in my throat. After that though, everything is peachy. I found this very confusing.

I figured it might be because my throat is a bit dry from not having any liquids all night. I have tested this theory after drinking a cup of water, after eating breakfast and even after taking a warm shower to moisten my throat. Regardless, thoes first few pulls still burn.

Nothing I'm too concerned about but I was wondering if anyone might have a scientific explination for this phenomena?

I've also wondered this... But to be honest... Those first few drags are the highlight of my morning haha

Could be your throat trying to heal overnight - inhaling hot vapor isn't natural!

Im with you on this one. I use a kr8 and love those first few vapes in the morning where I really feel it. Its almost as good as that first cig in the morning, if only I could get a decent little nic buzz from that first vape in the morning it would be perfect :)

I thought I was alone on this though, the first few drags are definately very rough for TH.

I don't really have the morning cravings like I did with regular cigs. Many days I won't have a drag untill well after noon. It still take me a while to get going. I start off with something mellow and work my way up. I don't have a clue as to the science but I would guess it's like being around anything that can be a little rough on the senses. After a while you just get used to it. At least I don't wake up coughing my lungs out for the first half hour of every day!!

If you think about it, the same thing would happen with a traditional cigarette. The first smoke in the morning was the most powerful, then it would dwindle later in the day. I think it's the nicotine, after all, a higher level of nicotine gives a greater throat hit - Therefore going all night without it, gives us that big hit in the morning.

Yeah it happens to me too and also right after I eat. I have actually learned to enjoy it.

Man i had to give up some of the original carts i had from volcano because the throat burn at anytime of the day would cause me to cough and hack lol. I just got in my ejuice yesterday and after hitting it all night, i had no problems. This morning on the way to work, after running 3 miles i took some drags and got the throat burn from the new ejuice, so im starting to think it has to do with the dryness of throat at certain times of the day or it could just be the atty heats up more on its own when it feels like it?? Who knows lol??

nicotine dehydrates you. i drink a lot at night as well (booze), which only adds to the dehydration. best advice, stay hydrated. drink plenty of fluids (non-alcoholic) before bed, and in the morning. one may also consider using a humidifier in their room at night. Vicks has a model or two that may help. I used to use them as I used to smoke a lot of something else daily... i had a vicks vaporizer that proved very helpful during my constant bouts with bronchitis/pneumonia...
