Hello fellow vapers,

So I got a RSST I've been using the same ss wick for about a Month now. The guys at e cig city riverside set it up for me and said that re using the same wick for a long time is fine.

Is it time to change wicks? Is it turning brown because of rust?!? I do use water to clear the tank and wick.

Flavor seems to change when running low on liquid. It seems like it'll turn a fresh tank brown after just a few hits.

How do I keep my flavors fresh? Just change the wick monthly?

It takes me less time to make a new wick than to make a new thread why my wick might turn brown.

Then you'll have your answer.

I rinse my tanks with PG and then wetburn that off ... water never gets into my tanks, therefore never concerned with rust.

I asked the dark liquid question, too & received this answer from an experienced vaper & modder: "...typically the juice turns dark from 2 things, One, the wick is slightly dry and the coil is burning the juice, then two the juice saturates the burnt juice on the coil area and it leaks back into the tank. This causes the juice to turn darker."
Hope this helps you.

Forgot to comment on changing the wick. If it's in good shape (not all torn, raveled out) I just clean the tank out with a big syringe of water until the water runs pretty clear, pull all the water out with the syringe, dry burn the wick & tank until no more steam comes off the wick, then burn the gunk off the wick & coils until the coils glow nicely. Probably good for months. Don't see any reason for rusting w/ ss wick, kanthal, & RSST.

I've had the same issue before. It's due to steeping. The juice discolours due to heat and burnt and condensed eliquid seeping back down the wick.

I presume u leave ur fill hole screw on? Vape with it left open and you'll see a huge difference.

When the fill hole is covered, air forces it's way into the tank through the sides of the wick when u suck on ur rba. It carries the burnt and condensed e-liquid on the wick as well as heat from the coils back into the tank which causes this phenomenon.
