Hello, I am pretty new to vaping. Been using a Halo G6, but recently my brother gave me a mech mod with a Magama Paradigm RDA. World of difference.

He set it up with a 1 ohm coil. Flavor is great, vape production is great, I have zero complaints. Except I want something a little more portable.

I have been reading up on different options, but I am not really sure what to get. I am looking at either a genesis style or tank style. It doesn't have to be 100% leak proof, however I would like something I can bring in the car for road trips, or use while watching tv and not have to worry about spilling or refilling quite so often.

I am interested in the best taste as well, not so much concerned with giant clouds (although I must admit I am impressed with the clouds of this thing.)

I find that the best taste is when I draw a lot of air quickly, so I think I prefer a cooler hit. Slower hits seem harsh and bitter. My preferred throat hit is none at all. I know TH depends a lot on the juice, but temp also seems to be a big factor. I got some 28g wire and an ohm meter, and I will build a ~1.5 ohm coil to see how that goes.

So with that in mind, can you guys suggest a tank or genesis (or other?) RBA? I can build a coil and wick it, but something noob friendly is ideal since I don't have much experience building the stuff. I am not interested in sub ohm at this point.

Thanks in advance!

I wanted to say also that I have been lurking here for a week or so, and I appreciate all of the helpful posts by veteran members. This forum is a great resource.

I would start with an RTA if I wanted a tank and a RDA if I didn't. I would want to get pretty good at building coils before going to a Geni type.

They are a little more difficult to get the hang of. At least for me. I can do a coil for my Kayfun or Chalice3 or Hobo 3 from spool to vapor in under 10 minutes.. It can take me 30minute or more to get my Sat22 or Steam Turbine just right. Gotta say The Genis are my best attys flavor wise, once dialed in. But, I just cant get there and stay there consistently yet. So I play with the Geni's when I have time and Vape on the others.

Well I'm not sure you'd want to go the route I did, but all I use are gennies, and I carry three of them on Poldiacs for work, which works fine as I drive for a living. I have a belt pouch from VapeSox that holds two of them. I build them with 26 kanthal at .7 ohm over 400 mesh and I've been very happy with that. Two of my gennies are DID's, which have a 3.5 ml juice capacity and I can vape on for a long time with them. I also have two authentic Krakens I carry. The other ten gennies I leave at home and play with occasionally. I can't really speak to the relative merits of RTA's having never used one so others will have to address that question for you.

If you go the genny route you will need to learn the art of building them right, and it's a learning curve. Not everyone can do it. Some have an aptitude for it, others just do not and never will.

Hey there, it highly depends on the budget you want to work with. I would say get into RTAs. I used to own a genisis as my first rebuidable and I would never go back to it. It's a good idea to give the kayfun a try, but here's some more options for you below $100 (non-clone):
the GG Tilemahos (easy)
Aqua footoon FX (not easy)
Goblin mini (??)
Lemo RTA (??)

If you don't care about refilling often check out the kayfun mini v3, it boasts really good flavor (better than v4) and an easy build and very easy wick.

I like the DID as far as a genny goes but if you are looking for a cheap tank you can grow into I cant suggest the griffin highly enough. build deck is big its easy to wick and you will never have to change the airflow by drilling it. I loved my kayfun for quite some time but top fill and options for 30 bucks are hard to turn down. good luck with your kayfun hope it works out.
