I gave up on my EXO RTA, and vaping for a bit. I need everything to be hassle free as possible with the tank in order to enjoy vaping.
EXO holds a LOT of juice for a small'ish tank, and I doubt what I get next will hold as much juice for a small'ish size.
But the EXO air flow ring was so stiff that it could never get it to close without tools or taking the tank off etc. If I removed the o-ring, it would be too loose. I guess I could have sourced out a slightly thinner o-ring and made it decent but I didn't get into all that.

I've seen this problem on so many tanks, especially if they're wet from a little juice, the knurling/grip is useless. I don't have arthritis or anything either, the grip is use not grippy enough.

So I'm looking for recommendations for basic (nothing fancy unless it's worth it, I haven't looked at tanks in a year or so and don't know if there's any new technologies worth it), want basic single coil or dual coil but prefer just single, must be plain unpainted stainless steel preferably 316L.

Would like recommendations for one large/medium size tank to use on triple 18650 MOD, plus one smaller tank for single 18650 MOD, both must have juice flow and good grip/knurling on the air flow and juice flow!

DTL big cloud type tank I want. I already have a coppervape skyline clone which was decent but that too, the juice flow gets jammed and there's a tiny o ring to remove that helps prevent that but it's been giving my DNA mods TEMP PROTECTION errors for some reason even though I swear it's not shorting out or anything ( could be the stainless kanthal clapton I just started using is 'popping' like crazy and might be bridging some sort of gap to cause error, IDK, this is what I'm talking about needing everything perfect and not wanting to smash everything.

    please recommend. thank you.

Hello @vapesmooth123, with airflow are you looking for something airy or restricted?

As that will change what options may be suggested for you, that may be of interest.

But don't get me started on o rings, various manufactures seem to use incorrectly sized ones of dubious quality. Over time I like to replace them with FKM (Viton) ones which are the right size, as FKM is so much better than Buna or Silicone.

Like the Steam Crave Aromamizer Plus V2 is good with the mesh deck and a large capacity, but the o ring sizes are off a bit and that makes things a little more difficult when it comes to using it. So at some point I've got to replace them and try and work out the right sizes I'll need to use, which will be fun.

Have some Ulton Taifun GT4 clones, they're on the airy side. Love the build deck with the coil mounting and the external knurling, o rings not so much again as they're not sized properly and the grub screws are too short (they need 4mm long ones all round, replaced them and much better indeed). But I wonder if the o rings are the same sizes as the genuine?

But after retrofitting various components it's become one of my favorites, as I have discovered that it uses glass in the tank. So it's safe to use with any flavour.

I don't know if something like an Ulton Tripod clone may be of interest for your single 18650 mod, I'm aware they don't have any knurling. But they use locking tabs like a bayonet fitting on the top sectoin of the tank and the top cap of the RTA, the only screws are in the deck and 510 connector.

And I think that you're right with your DNA mod throwing a fit, as it's not advisable to mix metals in a complex coil with TC as it causes issues with the chipset measuring resistance changes and Kanthal just doesn't work with TC period. It is fine is wattage or power mode though.

the DNA mod was giving problems with %100 SS coil.

Anyway, I might get an aromamizer V2 plus, but it's gigantic, I'd use that at home though and might even extend to 18ml or 12ml on my triple 18650 I'm okay with that. I read the o-rings might be tight but the knurling on the juice flow and base seems good, but the air flow I'm not sure if will be too tight and start unscrewing the tank!

Looking for smaller tanks too for single 18650 for out and about. both the large and small would like MTL and DTL choices. With juice flow and good knurling. I might just skim through all the hundreds of RTAs on fasttech and see what I can find.

I have a list from like 2.5 years ago
    things like
    ijoy captain rta non-elite mini
    Herakles RTA
    pharaoh mini
Govad RTA (had and think I liked it, but changed to Ijoy EXO RTA since it held much more and almost same size, the EXO wasn't annoying me enough at the time I guess).

Ammit (had, and same reason as above I guess).
Smallest RTA rebuildable and RTA with premade coils?
I nit-picked the pecs for size and ml capacity and Juice Flow or not and some of these tanks are smaller but hard if not impossible to find for sale anymore but some are,
maybe something newer came out that is small and has juice flow and good knurling since then someone can post.

Some of those might be too tight o rings and start unscrewing the tank PITA and no knurling though. I bought a gemini it seemed like a great choice of the options but was so tight I had to use pliers.

i might get a kayfun clone as a small MTL tank. The skyline clone juice control has issues I mentioned.

@vapesmooth123, the Tripodis well worth a look at. Wether it be clone or original.

As it has wonderful flavour and can be configured for MTL to DTL. With the use of airflow inserts, chamber reducer and a wide bore or narrow bore chimney.

No knurling, but it uses a bayonet style locking system for the top cap and removal of the top of the RTA for access to the build deck.

Along with the tripod, you could also try the Coppervape Hussar project X clone... it's a good clone, and I'm not having difficulty with the JFC... it is more mtl to rl though... not dl.

I've just received the Nibiru and the Tripod the other day, but haven't had time to clean and set up either one yet.... be a few more days before I'll have that done and be able to try either. ..

I do have to say I've never had difficulty with plastic tanks cracking though. . Might just be me. I do have two project x clones though (gotta have backups! Lol). Too bad I'm not rich enough for authentic on that one. I just love it... I'm getting rich flavor out of it, for real, with the 2ml tank. It's one of the better flavor chasers I've had so far. (I haven't used the 4ml extension yet, I have heard there's some flavor loss with that)...

You'll be in for a treat then when you get round to the Tripod @Opinionated, it'll bring flavour notes out in liquids that you never experienced before. So it would be worth comparing it with the Project X with the same liquid.

But the Tripod is the only RTA that I have ever seen that left Jai Haze speechless, which is a feat in itself.

And it would be nice to know what you think of the Niburu as well please, as so much is unknown about it.

But it does have a nice small vapour chamber, which hopefully should be good.

And the reservoir locking mechanism to stop leaking when accessing the deck seems very interesting.

Hopefully Ulton will release more airflow blocks similar to the original, as it would be nice to have more airflow options to tweak the experience.

thanks.. I searched every RTA on fasttech I think, and some I previously listed but they're not available anywhere that I can find, some like the pharaoh mini, Govad etc would have been perfect as my smaller RTA for outside on my single 18650 DNA75. Seems like Fatality 25 will have to do, unecessary height from secondary airflow IMHO but for now should be ok,

and yes thanks getting aromamizer for triple 18540 at home, might extend it to like 22ml or whatever!

those two seemed to be my only options... no plastic tanks, has replaceable glass available, holds what it should for its size and no bells and whistles, although, again, the fatality IMHO rather was shorter or held more VS a second air flow taking up space.

    @vapesmooth123 -
The only RTA's I used since they first came out in early January 2019 is my 6 Profile Unity Mesh RTA's from Wotofo. They come with both 3.5ml and 5ml glass... for my uses are the best of all worlds in RTA's. Also have 9 of their bottom fed Profile Mesh RDA's as well that are my favorites of the 21 mesh RDA's I have. Either of them sell in the $30-$35 price range.

I know their authentic Profile Unity RTA's and Profile 1.5 RDA's are still available from Wotofo, and I have seen some from a few other USA and foreign vendors as well.

Their build decks can run with either a mesh strip or single or parallel double coils.
