Rubber coating came off my X2

Think I am going to take it off of all of them.

I noticed that a few of my newer batts have started flaking a bit as well, just gonna baby them untill the look too battle scarred and they glean all the rubber coating off as well. Hasn't happened with my older batts though.

Happened to me on my manual. I scrapped it all off. When my auto battery needed to be replaced, I asked if they wouldn't mind send me a silver one instead of the black I had. When I ordered my X2, I got the silver finish. Looks sleek, and nothing to scratch off. I usually toss them into my pockets amongst coins, nails, screws, feed corn, or whatever else, so it's probably for the best.
