It's always tough nailing down good, reliable e-liquid suggestions, what with so many products, suppliers, and different types of users out there. Still, despite that, I'll give asking for some suggestions a shot. I'm mainly interested in domestically (USA) produced e-juice, but am open to others. I like liquids that run pretty clean, but almost everyone does, eh?

I've only really tried Halo Freedom (12mg nicotine), Torque56 (16-18mg nicotine), and Ecopure Mild (11mg nicotine?). I like a good throat hit, but I'm trying to stay away from the higher nicotine levels, and I find I'm getting by okay at the 8-12mg level. I didn't like the Ecopure, though I might be interested in trying their Rich flavor, but not until after I've tried out some other juices.

The Torque56 was a little heavy, though part of that I really kind of liked, but part of it also was just way too much! So far the Halo Freedom seems to be an okay happy-medium of sorts. It is my daily vape, and works fine for that, but in part this is only because I still have half a bottle. When I smoked anologs, my favorite smokes were Canadian Export A lights and Rothman mediums, though I haven't smoke either in years. Ever rising taxes eventually made both too expensive, so I ended up just smoking whatever light 100s happened to be cheapest. I haven't smoked for 2-3 months now. Pretty happy about that, though I could do without the occasional acne outbreak, especially since I'm in my 40s now! Hahaha.

From what I've experienced, it looks like I prefer somewhat woody/smokey flavors with a bit of extra flavor, like vanilla (but not necessarily limited to that), with a sweet aftertaste. I've been told this is essentially what an RY4 is, but each brand seems to have a different tasting/feeling version, so that doesn't help much. I like to drink coffee, usually hazelnut, so something up that line might be alright, as long as it still has a tobacco-like component to it. I'm not too sure about "spicy" flavors, but a little bit of that would probably be alright.

Anyway, if you are going to respond, I figured that extra information might be helpful in narrowing things down a bit. If it matters much, I use m400 (m402) series model battery/atomizer combinations. I've tried others, but I'm happy with the Intellicig m402 for now. If I can think of any other useful info to add, I will.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or other advice.

Hmmm...okay, I've read a couple of recommendations elsewhere for Backwoods Brew. Any particular reasons you prefer them compared to others? How would you describe it? Someone else was recommending several of My Freedom Smokes tobacco flavors (of which they have...wow, a lot!). Those are from Chinese manufacture though, so not so sure about going that route. I figure with the economy the way it is, I should try to keep a little extra money here in the U.S., though it may not make for much of a difference. E-liquid bottles last me awhile, so paying a little extra for each bottle doesn't bother me much, especially if I'm getting a real quality difference. (Of course, am I really getting a quality difference? Actually, I think probably am.)

Don over at BWB mixes his own tobacco flavoring. It's not your traditional tobacco...it's more of a fresh-cut tobacco flavor. His RY4 is very unique and I love it. I actually just ordered a 30ml of it last night. Don's juices are best-in-class, and he is pretty much the only vendor I'll buy a tobacco flavor from these days.

The quality of his products is outstanding, as is his customer service.

I went ahead and ordered 5x10ml Backwoods Brew e-liquid flavors. The RY4, of course, (12mg nicotine), as well as Malty Toffee and 555 Tobacco. But I also got the eJoker's Blend and Applewood flavors in 6mg nicotine strength, as these are supposed to have a good enough TH that you can do that with them. Since my eventual goal is to be at or near using 0mg nicotine level e-liquid, I figured I should continue in that direction. I'm surprised I didn't just get 30ml of one flavor as I'd originally intended, but I just couldn't decide on one flavor. They all sound so good (these ones anyway, and one or two others), and prices and shipping are reasonable enough (used 10% off coupon code BWB10) that I couldn't help going with a wider variety. Some I will probably not like. If I like them all, well...I guess I can't complain if I'm that lucky, but gee...I would like to just have one e-liquid I use as my daily vape. I'll see. Likely one will be my favorite above all others. I hope I end up liking at least one!

Thanks for all your help. I'll let you know how it goes.

Interesting, due to a different forum thread, regarding XL cartridges for m401 model e-cigs, I have now become very interested in the m601/02 (m601 model specifically), which is kind of like a KR808-D1 size m401 (depending on options, can use cartomizers or atomizer/cartridge combo, 2 or 3-piece design). Sounds pretty cool, though I am still very happy with my m402 for now. Because of that separate thread, I now also have on order some blank electronic-cigz.com XL cartridges that are already pre-filled with the very popular PTB modification. That was news to me that anything like that even exists (people have had to do the mod themselves up until now - a real pain), which I thought was pretty cool. The Backwoods Brew e-liquid will get here tomorrow. None-to-soon as I am truly almost completely out of my current Halo Freedom e-juice (though I have a 7-11 e-cig with some leftover cartridges available as a backup). The blank m401 ultra XL PTB cartridges should get here a few days later. I'm really looking forward to trying both together, but will have a chance to try my old regular m401 (plain old poly-fill) cartridges first with the new e-liquid. Then I'll be able to compare the difference (if any) and report the results.

I like Halo e-liquids, best I've experienced so far, but they don't have a specifically RY4 flavored juice. You might like their Freedom flavor, which seems like it has some RY4 flavor qualities. It is currently my favorite, but I have tried very few offerings available out there so far, so my opinion isn't experienced enough to be definitive. I do have some Backwoods Brew RY4, as well as several other flavors of Don's, coming in soon. All of BB's flavors are supposed to be exceptionally good, including their RY4. I have never read a single complaint about any of Backwoods Brew's flavors, which is one reason I am trying them out. I'll be able to tell you if they are any good in a day or two. As far as I know, all BB's ingredients are of domestic U.S.A. manufacture, with good quality control, numbered lots, and all the rest of that jazz, but I do not know for sure if that is 100% accurate for every single one of their ingredients. Product is well know for overall high quality though, and sounds like it is well worth a try (no one ever seems disappointed). Other possibilities also clearly exist, as you can see from some of this thread's responses, but not everything recommended is from the U.S., some is Asian/Chinese. Your choice.

As regards the 5 Backwoods Brew e-liquid flavors I just received (took 3 days for basic delivery):

The BWB RY4 is strong, fairly smooth, though a bit buttery bitter, with a hint of harshness at the throat. Throat hit at 12mg might be a bit heavy for me. Definitely kind of sweet, but not much, and no real nutty flavor I can taste. Definitely has some smokey tobacco consistency. More sweet, not much, on inhale, but not on exhale. Good vapor production, about the best you can expect from a m402 e-cigarette, equal to Halo Freedom e-juice in that respect, though not as smooth, and Halo Freedom e-juice has that touch of vanilla thing going for it. Can't say I think it's great, as is just a bit too harsh and not flavorful enough, but might grow on me as has some subtlety to it. Fairly clean. but doesn't feel like it will be a daily constant vape for me, but it definitely is nicotine urge satisfying.

The 12mg nicotine level BWB Malty Toffee is definitely a bit sweet, and definitely has a malty toffy-like flavor too it, in a light buttery sort of way. Throat hit lighter than the RY4. It has a lot less tobacco-like heavy smokiness, though it still has some in a just less harsh form. It's fairly clean. Has that somewhat candy-like aspect to it, which I'm not sure I like or not. After vaping it for awhile, more of the malty flavor comes through, which has some chocolate-like nuttiness to it, which I like. Could be a decent daily constant vape because of its relative lightness and smoothness, and its touch of malty flavoring with flavor that isn't too sweet and candy-like. Fairly enjoyable, but not amazing. Vapor production good.

The BWB 555 in 12mg nicotine level is very smooth. Throat hit is subtle, maybe not really enough of it because it is so smooth and not harsh. It definitely has a nutty flavor aspect to it, but no tobacco smokiness like the other two flavors described so far. It has some sweetness as well. Decent aftertaste, but not a flavorful one. Almost tastes kind of like a light Malty Toffee, as the nuttiness is kind of like that flavor's malty flavor. I like the inhale and lack of bitter aftertaste. Could be a constant daily vape for sure. I don't think there is enough there to be truly satisfying, but it's hard to tell. It's almost kind of stale tasting, but not necessarily in a gone bad sort of way. It's okay, really not bad at all, has grown on me some, but otherwise has nothing particularly special about it if you're looking for distinctive flavor. Definitely subtle. As with other standard BWB flavors, vapor production good.

I have to go to work soon, so I'll have to post later on the last two BWB e-juice flavors I've got, which are eJoker in 6mg nicotine level and Applewood at the same nicotine level. Both are supposed to be quite interesting in that they are said to have good throat hit at very low nicotine levels (even at 0mg). Sorry I won't be able to post on them until this evening after work. These have all been good enough so far that I don't feel like any of them have been a waste of money. I'll be able to vape all of them until they run out, but I probably won't get some of them again. Not bad results so far at all. Almost wish I had some Halo Freedom e-liquid leftover that had not already been watered down with worse e-liquids I wanted to make use of somehow, for making a better comparison. Oh well, that'll teach me, eh?

Yeah, the BWB RY4 is pretty good. BWB has a Honey-Flu Tobacco flavor that also is probably worth checking out. I think they also have it in a nutty flavor version, but I can't remember right now. I should try some FSUSA e-liquids as well, but I think I'll be using what I have now for awhile before I try out much in the way of any new flavors or suppliers. I'm finally enjoying getting into checking out new e-liquids though, so who knows, eh? I'll probably end up buying some more goodies sooner than I think.

Now on to finishing my BWB e-liquid flavors review.

The 6mg nicotine level Applewood is my first disappointment in a Backwoods Brew e-liquid flavor. The apple flavor is subtle (as seems typical for most BWB flavors), but it is good. It's almost like a hot apple pie sort of flavor, but without so much of the spicey (cinnamon and so on) ingredients. Unfortunately, there is no real throat hit, nor any smokey "wood" (or any other tobacco-like) flavor to it. This might work alright for someone who doesn't want a tobacco flavor, but I do. This is an otherwise decent tasting flavor though, so if you don't mind a good flavor with no throat hit, and are looking to go the ultra-low or zero nicotine route, than this might be good for you. I can't really recommend it though. I think the folks that recommend this must just really be into a good apple flavor that they disregard all other aspects of a good vaping experience. Even vapor production, while still good, seems lower than with the other BWB e-liquid flavors I've tried.

Instead, you might be more interested in the last BWB flavor e-liquid I tried, the 6mg nicotine level eJoker. This juice is a "secret" mix of several unspecified other e-liquids, all of which are typically BWB subtle. I can't define them all, though some some of the flavors taste like maybe mint (or peppermint?), ginger, and even menthol. The best way I can describe it is kind of like...a Christmas holiday taste, or like the smell of a Christmas aroma candle (like you might sniff at a Bath and Body type store), but not as intense. Though there is no real throat hit, there is something of a tongue hit instead, and an aftertaste of all its flavors that lingers on the tongue and even a bit in your nose. Yeah, it's definitely kinda cool, but not at all overwhelming. If you are into minty menthol, or particularly unique flavors, but trying to go low to zero nicotine, this might be right up your alley. I liked it, but find it hard to imagine vaping it regularly. I won't mind finishing the 10ml bottle gradually over time though, and I'll make heavy use of it over Thanksgiving and Christmas. This one is kind of a fun one.

My favorites of these 5 e-liquids for daily vaping purposes are probably the RY4, then/or the 555, then the Malty Toffee (a bit too light with a bit too much buttery toffee for me, and not enough malt, but the regular BWB Malty flavor I haven't ordered or tried yet might be pretty good), then eJoker, and finally Applewood...which is really the only one I don't like very much. I'll probably only use that one on days where I feel I've been vaping too much and feel a need to cut back, but still need or want to vape regardless. (I don't think that will happen much.) The others I'll be able to make good use of, with the top three being all pretty solid and enjoyable regular vapes.

In maybe another week I'll be getting my blank XL PTB cartridges, and I'll retest all of these e-liquids with those newer style cartridges to see if there is any significanct difference in how they vape, taste, and also if the XL cartridges really last much longer before having to be refilled.

Oh, sorry, forgot to mention that eJoker and Applewood are also clean and buttery smooth as well (but by that I mostly don't mean "buttery" in flavor), much like the other Backwoods Brew flavors mentioned. Also, for those that are into this sort of info, RY4 is the darkest e-liquid (being fairly dark), then eJoker, Malty Toffee, Applewood, and then 555, with the 555 being particularly light in color. I don't know if that has any real significance to anyone, or why it would, but other reviewers sometimes mention the relative lightness or darkness of an e-liquid they are reviewing (because some people ask?), so I thought I'd just throw that in for the sake of completeness.

I don't know what it is, but for some reason none of these flavors are working for me very well right now. Maybe it is the nicotine level not being enough, or maybe I've just been switching between my current e-liquid flavors too much, or maybe these subtle flavors aren't so much subtle as...simply too weak? I clean out my atomizers when switching flavors, so that shouldn't really be an issue, unless my taste buds are just rebelling in some strange way. I think it's probably mainly a nicotine level issue, though 12mg has worked well enough for me before...but with a different brand. Any thoughts?
