I'll Bite, Kat it looks like your box is a little tight. Might need a trim too in this hot weather.

Maybe if it was a waxed box it wouldn't be so tight.

Hello, my name is Richard. I love my Sabot. I take it everywhere.
It's a shoe-in for sure.

Well, most everyone has had a few days to test out the Sabot. Let's hear some feedback, things you might change, tips and tricks. Another good thing to post here is which brand, resistance ARO heads your using and what was the experience with that particular one. If you are rebuilding, what gauge, size coil, resistance, wick materials and your experience with that. We really need some Sabot information on this thread.
Just set one up last night. Takeaways: Can't build the coil too wide, it will touch the atty and short. This was with 28g wire, if I wasn't trying to hit about 2.5 ohms I might be able to build it narrow enough, but 30g is much easier. Drunk_J says he gets better flavor with 32g wire, I will try that next.
It tends to make a bit of crackling noise when firing, but I like that, it is confirmation that my setup is working. Great vapor and good flavor on my last coil attempt. I still have a lot more playing to do to optimize my setup. It is very easy to remove and install in the BB tank, just make sure (as with any carto device) to apply a bit of juice to the tank o-rings.
Too little wick somehow gets juice to travel up the chimney and into the mouth. I tried both cotton ball and Cellucotton, both work great, but the wicking is good enough at these power levels to not need any special wicking material to work well.
Nice job, guys!
I am confused? What causing gurgling and juice on the drip tip?
Flavor wicks too long? Or too short? I have the air control on the loosest setting (I like airy), and I use the same MBV 65%PG/35%VG (vanilla blend.
I tend to run the voltage on the low side. If I turn it up hotter it will get rid of the gurgling, but then taste somewhat burnt.
Any other info wanted? Stock SMOK aro head with two threads of cotton.
EDIT: Third tank with same head, nothing changed. Raising voltage from 4.5 to 5.0 stops it, but makes the vape a bit hotter than I like.

Say it isn't so!

Nope, not this time - It's a trap I tell you! A trap...
reminds me of a blonde joke - what do blondes and aircraft have in common?

I plan to dedicate tomorrow to Sabot Day. I don't rebuild, but I am going to be doing my own form of experimentation. I will return results as they play out.
Thank you again guys. Ya done well!
When you have gurgling it is either an airflow or a wick issue. Since your airflow is wide open let's go with trying some wick changes. Might take some experimenting to get it right for you. First off, make sure the flavor wicks are sitting in the slot and on top of the coil. If they slide down beside the coil they can obstruct the airflow. Next, if that wasn't the case, try fluffing the ends of the wicks to ensure they take up the open slotted area completely. Lastly, add an additional flavor wick strand on top of the others. Just so everyone is clear, when I say strand, I do not mean an entire piece of yarn. The yarn is composed of four strands, so I am talking about removing one strand from the group of four. So anyway, give those few things a try and let me know how it goes.
Knowing me, I will wait until this one bothers me enough to make a change. Adding a bit of heat/voltage cures it - and since it is very airy, you're basically saying not enough wick? But would *more* wick 'cause' gurgling/flooding - this confuses me? I would think too little would cause dry hits, and too much would cause either/and/or gurgling or flooding?
