Said good bye to my baby today

It's said all dogs have an expressway to heaven and I had to send my Buddie on her way today.
She will forever hold a dear place in this broken heart.

They say memories are golden, well, maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.
A million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place no one else could fill.
If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane.
I'd walk the path to Heaven and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us back one by one, the chain will link again.

Very sorry to hear. I too lost a family member a few years back. Still to this day I get choked up thinking of her. My first pet was my cat and she lived 20+ years.

We have had pets over the years and losing them did not hit this hard.
As many of you know, even though a pet loves the whole family, it will bond more with just one.
Buddie and I shared that special bond.

I so appreciate all the kind and understanding words and today was a bit better than yesterday.
