Ok, Canucks get first dibs on these batteries. I got them to lower their cost on the Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh compared to their significant others !
shop in USD, the Canadian exchange rate sucks and you can use your existing point if you have any or Google for a 5% coupon code to make the deal even more sweeter ! ;)

Good thing about this seller is that they ship batteries somehow by air instead of the slow .... Surface Mail that SlowTech charge additional money for !

What makes you think this Chinese supplier can be trusted to sell authentic batts?

Same with 99% of the stuff in your home that is made in China, plus this seller is a large business on the net and would not risk their reputation on some silly batteries. Their reputation with flashlight enthusiast's forums is stellar plus I have purchased from them often and have nothing, but good things to say about them !

This is interesting :). I am always looking for new suppliers that offer good deals, but I'm really careful about my batteries.

Same with 99% of the stuff in your home that is made in China

0% of the Chinese stuff in my home was bought from Banggood. Of the things I have bought from China, most of it was counterfeit, specially if the deal was good (cheap). I know that I have to be very careful if I want anything authentic from Chinese suppliers.

plus this seller is a large business on the net and would not risk their reputation on some silly batteries.

Fasttech is also a large Chinese business who sell counterfeits including their batteries. You have to be careful that the product description includes 'authentic' or 'original' or the product will be counterfeit. This is the reason Fasttesch is not in my list of known good battery suppliers.

Their reputation with flashlight enthusiast's forums is stellar plus I have purchased from them often and have nothing, but good things to say about them !

I Googled and didn't find anything that supports that claim. If you have a couple of links I would certainly check them out.

In my research I did find this example of one case of counterfeit batteries from Banggood. If you look at the battery from the Banggood product page, the authentics clearly say 'Made in Japan', not 'Made in China'. I suspect Banggood is probably like Fasttech in this regard.

My list of known good battery suppliers:

Illumination Supply
RTD Vapor
Lighthound
Orbtronic
Battery Junction

There are certainly more than this, but these are the ones I feel confident in passing on to people.

Sweet-vapes.com -- they're on the list of "approved resellers" for AW batteries, and I've noticed a couple other brands they sell that show a similar 'approved reseller' notation. They're a great vape vendor for many items, ejuice to hardware.

Just learning about batteries. i just bought 4 in a store yesterday as I needed them quickly. A store i trust so that isnt the issue but I bought, SAMSUNGS .
The store I shop at wont carry Sonys, so I am told. Says even the most trusted places he can buy from he doesnt trust as there are just too many fake Sonys.
True, or a story to get around why he might not have any?

What is the reason for the different colors of wrapping? What does this signify?

And Ryedan, do you ever order from American battery suppliers? If so, are they easy to get across the border?

It's true. Illumination Supply, the first link I posted of reliable battery suppliers, even got some counterfeit Sony's once that I know of. They test all their batteries when they get them, but they sold some before they realized they were fake. They let everyone who had bought them know and replaced them free. If I remember correctly, they were actually LG HE2's, so I really doubt anyone would ever have known.

Without testing gear, you can't tell if the batteries are authentic unless they are bad batteries in performance or safety or they have visible differences from the real deal. The problem is that if they are counterfeits, you don't know the real specs or that they are not dangerous.

What is the reason for the different colors of wrapping? What does this signify?

No reason that I know of. You can buy heat shrink sleeve in a lot of different colors. Mine is black :)

All the links I posted are American suppliers. I've bought from Illumination Supply (they usually have the best prices) and Battery Junction (VTC5's when no one else I trusted had any). I have also bought VTC3's from Fasttech in China and a few AW batts from a Canadian supplier out east who is no longer in business. I have not had any problems importing batteries.

Exactly -- I got burned on some AW batteries a while back; I think I used them twice before discovering they were fakes -- at which point I promptly recycled them, because I have no way of knowing what they REALLY are -- could be *fire's for all I know, or even ICRs. At least they were 18350s so the monetary hit wasn't too bad.

Now I buy AW's only at sweet-vapes.com.

Forget buying from some unknown (little known) source. FT recently updated news about battery shipping - they're shipping out of Sweden now, with 6-12 day delivery to Canada for battery orders. They have the authentic Samsung INRs in 2 and 4 packs (4pack is $22USD, free shipping) Just search for sku 2204402 on the website and you'll find them. No more waiting for the boat to arrive.

With the US/CAN currency exchange rate it may still be less to order from canvape at under 7 bucks a pop for the 25R's. Especially if you're grabbing something else to go with them.

I've found that for the most part prices work out to being less ordering from a Canadian supplier as we
don't have to deal with the exchange rates. Even better than fasttech in many instances. Faster too. Cheers.

I'm curious, how did you manage to get them to reduce the cost?

I simply emailed them to compare with Fasttech's price for the same battery and they immediately lowered it and changed their website's pricing. Not bad within a 2-3 hours of sending my email they did all that and emailed me back. Yes they are similar in scope to Fasttech, but they are a better source for quality flashlights and batteries than Fasttech, but Fasttech has more for e-cigs stuff. I personally don't like buying batteries from Fasttech because they ship only Surface Mail(45-60 days) plus you have to pay for this slow as snail shipping, Banggood somehow is able to ship by air.

They even have a CSR in the flashlight forums, he usually answers questions and requests within 1-2 hours.
I ordered a 18650 battery from them and after 35 days still did not received it, they sent another one right away, in the end both came.

Did you put batteries in your calculator ? Nothing and I mean nothing is ever cheaper buying in Canada.
When the shipping is 2x more than my order, it is game over for Canadian e-merchants plus you have to pay for 5%/15% taxes on top of this !
Some people think that by supporting local businesses they are helping the economy, I say otherwise in that all they are helping is lining the pockets of the fat cats in Ottawa to perpetuate the situation and I will do my hardest to not pay any taxes to any of these crooks !

I just checked CanVape's prices for the same two batteries. With shipping comes out to $25.10/$29.80 depending which province it's being shipped to vs $13.74 on Banggood no matter where you live !

Sanyo batteries are that ones that are mostly faked. Most of these flat tops are for industrial use in laptop batteries and power tool packs. The colour of the wrapper is irrelevant compared to the P/N.

I always check Canvape (and a few other Canadian suppliers) first when I need something. I live in the GTA so I can pick up on the weekend which saves the shipping and as you point out the CAD exchange rate is significant now and has to be taken into account too.

IMO it's also important to support Canadian suppliers. If we lose them I know I would regret it.

I read a few of the threads from that page and I'm not impressed EdT586. I'm going to stick with my known good battery suppliers for now ;)

Vape on.

$25.59 in Canada and guessing another $2.50 for the e-packet if that makes it come faster or just free shipping BUT can anyone state here that these batteries WILL DEFINITELY get across the border?
I thought in Canada we had problems ordering batteries outside?

Just want to confirm it will be ok before ordering.............

IMO it's also important to support Canadian suppliers. If we lose them I know I would regret it.

I'd like to say I have a good feeling about some of the practises I have seen our Vape stores do but i dont and i know many others don't.
Retail is undergoing a huge transformation unlike we have seen before in our lifetime over the next decade and I suspect the successful stores will be the ones most technologically advanced in bringing and keeping business, especially in malls....not sure the small retail outlet is going to have an easy time of it.
That being said, nor are many people and people will take care of themselves first since no ones paying their rent, only them!

So although i morally agree with your statement, it wont put a roof over someones head and i think that will drive people to look elsewhere.
IS it a good thing?
No but then............the world is changing rapidly and not all for the best.

Either that or the *Over 40* gene has kicked in and i sound like every adult i disagreed with when i was 16 about the world at that time :)

For that matter IS CanVape and large such companies Canadians or are they Chinese owned businesses? I havent any idea but just discovered that the largest e-bike company in Canada who i thought was Canadian owned is also a chinese owned company.

You know you are only saving shipping cost ordering on that site. Illumination Supply with the exchange is around the same price and the batteries are legit.
