Sapphire question, burnt taste lately

I love the sapphire, and have had good luck with it. But however, lately, I get a burnt taste when using them. I always buy the same ones at the same ohm rating, 3 ohm. i am using these on an ego twist, set to lowest level. I decided to try one that was tasting burnt on an EPower with the same result.

Has something changed with the sapphires?
