Well, you should have done your research first. Not everyone wastes money on gas station junk and overprice mall stuff, only to be redeemed by a case of Provangelitis. You could've gotten something decent for 1/2 the price of a Provari. I've been vaping for over 2 years now, and nothing I have bought was junk or a waste of money. And I don't have a Provari. Strange thing how Provangelitis strikes before the Provari is even delivered and suddenly everything else is a waste of money. Provangelitis is such an obnoxious disease.

Well, aren't you just perfect huh? I am sure NO ONE ON HERE has ever wasted any money starting out. You could be a little nicer all I was trying to do was help. Sorry that the device I found that fit my budget, needs, fit, feel, finish, weight and features AFTER I DID DO RESEARCH happened to be Provari not what you use.

When converting smokers outside this forum the first question I ask is how much do you want to spend and I give a scale of prices from low end to upper end. I also ask them how much they smoked and the brand. I also ask them if size could be troubling for them. Some have opted for the Provari and have been very pleased with it while others have gone for the Kgo and have also been very pleased. The vast majority have chosen the Kgo and are extremely pleased with the results. There is also a group of people that will upgrade based on looks and their "need to spend/ shop"...I have no problem with this as long as it's their dough :D

Yeah I agree my provari is on its way I don't even have it in my hands yet but I wouldn't waste money on anything else...with the single cheap ecig and kit from convenience stores and the kit I bought from the mall I could have got a provari from the start...

The idea is to do the research BEFORE you go to the convenience store and the mall. That way, everything you buy isn't a waste of money, even if it isn't a Provari. "I wouldn't waste money on anything else" implies pretty clearly that anything else is a waste of money. Well, it might be, if you don't do any research and buy mall kits. But that's easily avoidable and you don't have to buy a Provari to do it. Despite what Provangelists may think, proclaiming anything short of a Provari to be a waste is not help, it's a manifestation of Provangelitis.

And when you can't, or don't want to, buy someone else's idea of "perfect", decent or good isn't a waste or a "compromise". It's reality and perfect for you at the time.

The bottom line, in all cases, is what a person wants and needs from an electronic cigarette.

That can lead you in so many directions that it isn't even worth discussing (in my opinion) without background information.
There are so many variables.

And there are so many different things we all got out of "The Smoking Experience" that the answer can never be uniform.

Which of these things do you need?
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ou-put-down-those-last-couple-cigarettes.html

What is needed, for any individual, is information as to their smoking habits.
And their current wants, and real or imagined needs.
And their nicotine intake.

From there, a suggestion can be made that can get them started.

And yes, they probably got some of those factors wrong.
But they don't know that, and trying to convince them otherwise is futile more often than not.

Get the needed information, and try to steer them appropriately.
That is what I always advocate.

Yep I did own a Provari but gave it away as I had no need for it. It was nice to allow others to use either my Megalodon, Kgo, SD-Key Ring or Provari before they bought. Those that bought the Provari, in most instances, were heavy smokers and needed the stronger hit. As mentioned vaping is such a very personal program and all we can do is suggest PVs, juices and accessories and hope for the best.

So I'm ready to buy my first e-cigarette. I'm getting an ego 510. Where are the best deals right now? Thanks.

The OP asked where the best deal was on what they wanted to get, so re-directing them to a different device isn't helpful. For a the majority of people the eGo is great and anything bigger is not of interest. My wife uses eGos but says that if a 510 sized battery could last longer that would still be her first choice. With a Boge 2 ohm carto, eGo's are still a satisfying vape. I may prefer my small herd of mods but we big battery mod lovers are a small percentage of the vaping community.

Welcome to ECF and I hope you enjoy your new vape!

When I got my KGO kit, I just charged it up until the charger light turned green and stayed green, and then started using it. When the light first turns green, it will still flash red about every 10 seconds or so. I let it charge until it didn't do that any more. Mine are lasting all day with moderate vaping.

I just got my kgo in the mail. I filled the cartomizer up with juice until it wouldnt absorb anymore. I dropped the juice down the side, and made sure to avoid getting it in the hole in the middle, this is how you should do it right? also, i took the carto off to see if there was any juice on the battery, and there was. how do i avoid this? one more thing, its really harsh, not on my throat, but in my chest/lungs. is this normal for a first time user, or is something wrong? i think its 20% vg and its 16mg nicotine.

Back when I used just cartomizers, I'd take the carto off the battery before filling. Once I felt I had enough, I'd put my mouth on the end it's supposed to go on and blow out the other end into a tissue..that way if you've overfilled it, it goes into the tissue. I'm not sure why it's harsh in your chest. Maybe someone else has an answer to that. Can you describe alittle better what's happening? What do you mean by harsh?

I just made this post on another thread, but thought it might apply here as well...

The most important part about electronic cigarettes is wicking.
That is how the juice gets to the heating element and gets vaporized.

If your juice is not getting there fast enough, you can experience significant harshness.

Now if this is your problem, solving it is another matter altogether which can depend on any of the following factors...
--The specific equipment you are using
--The PG/VG ratio of your juice
--How much time you take between drags
--The voltage you are running
--The resistance of your atomizer/cartomizer

In your case it is quite possible that the filler material has not gotten thoroughly saturated near the coil.
Maybe if you let it sit for awhile it will get better.
:)

Or maybe there is some other issue.
