Yeah, aside from the fact that the study doesn't show causation, only correlation(surprise teens likely to try e-cigs are likely to try cigs), the other population data tells us that less teens are smoking now than ever before since they started taking numbers. What that would insinuate is that e-cigs are actually HELPING to bring teen smoking rates down.

I notice most of these articles end the last line with the 9.2% smoker rate among youth when this should be the opening for the article if media was to cover the facts as they stand. This is the first time ever for single digit smoking rates in this group and should be trumpeted as a success and would well be if it were not for the fact that the folks who have incomes hedged on this with a planned exit rate were not seeing those incomes erode faster than expected. These folks want or rather need more teens to smoke because that will even out the curve they have projected on their incomes over the next few decades.

the reason why they just ask have you used a e-cig in the last
in the last month as opposed to have you used an e-cig in the last
month and, where were you and why did you use it is because they
do not want to know.
they know the reason if they have teenagers. fruit flavored, zero nic,
disposable cigalikes are the must have party favor at any teenage
drinking party.
kids use e-cigs for the same reason they use cigarettes.
peer pressure.peer pressure accounts for roughly 70-80% of
cigarette use in teens. if their parents smoked 15-20% accounts
for most of the rest. all other causes account for what is left.
how these figures relate to e-cigs is hard to say but, i am willing
to bet peer pressure is far and away still number one.

I agree and we need to shout the answers at them.
