I saw them in the early eighties. A whole lot of music for three guys.
Wow nice video. Hell they may be better musically now then they were then.

Awesome! Glad to hear they're still kicking ... on stage...
Did they play anything from 2112? That's my fav Rush album...
I was hoping they would insert Passage to Bangkok somewhere in one of the sets, but they didn't. Oh well.
Me and my Wife have tickets!!!! We'll be rocking to Rush on Oct. 1st in Tampa! Been a long time fan just never been able to see them LIVE. I am sooo looking forward!!!
You will not be disappointed. In fact, they will surpass anything you could imagine. They are really THAT GOOD live!!! I was completely blown away.
P.S. didn't Alex Lifeson get arrested not too long ago down in Florida for assaulting a police officer. Got his nose broken as well, I believe.
"2112" was a turning moment in my life - you know - when it came to understanding what "real" music was all about? Without a doubt Rush is one of those bands that noobie bands (these days) only hope to come close too. Now I might sound bias but (you gotta admit) the competition when Rush was at the forefront was fierce. Hence the reason so much great music was created during that time period. I think the digital age has been both good and bad for the bands/music these days. Yes it's readily available on the internet but because the competition is not what it used to be (making it to the top) then we as consumers really have to wade through the "noise". But it is what it is. Thankfully there's still great bands out there but as I said (unfortunately) many get lost in the "noise".
Chris.....That was my first Rush concert too...LOL! I did'nt know you were that old! We got there too late for Golden Earring!(But I did see BTO get booed of the stage at an Alvin Lee concert!)My first concert was Rush at Cobo Hall in 1978. Golden Earring warmed up for them and got booed offstage. It was Rush's "Hemispheres" tour.
I can't agree more with your view on new "music". I saw some highlights of the VMA's from a few days ago on youtube and between Lady Gaga's bombastic idiocy and Kanye West's "talent" of pushing random buttoms on a drum machine and cursing over pre-recorded, computer generated "rythym"; I almost lost my lunch. It's a shame that generation Y, for the most part, has very little knowledge of REAL music.
"Back in the day" we had a great amount of musical choices to latch on too. Maybe I'm just turning into my Dad but I just don't see that anymore.
you guys are, but I'm a 90's music guy. Don't get me wrong, my satelite radio stays on classic vinyl most of the time. But I haven't had heard music like Sound garden, Nirvana, Rage against the Machine, Alice in Chains in a while. I mean it doesn't have to sound like these bands, this stuff was just original. Now everything is sampled and MTV'ed out. I can't stand new music!!
lol, don't do that just yet. I know what you mean, but I don't want to believe it. There's still lots of talent out there, it's just harder to find imo. It's definitely not at the forefront of popular music though. Then again, Rush was never really mainstream either. Heck, they're still not even in the Rock & Roll Hall of fame.

Road to Ruin. I'm on it. If you like Rush, give Porcupine Tree a listen also. Saw them live and they were great. Especially Gavin Harrison on drums. I know Rush fans can appreciate a good drummer.
