Rush was one of my favorite bands back in the day. I've seen them probably 6 or 8 times. 2112 was an "epic" album for me - yeah a real vinyl album that I wore the grooves off. So much sound for a 3-piece band, but they kinda lost me when Geddy got all keyboard happy in later days. Seeing that Freewill video brought me back to the days and I sang out loud watching it like I was 16 again. Awasome!

The guys look great for their age and sound even better. I've got to see if they are touring anywhere close. Thanks for the post!

Cool. Not bad. Kind of QOTSA with some Alex Lifeson guitar influence in there.

And am I the only one that liked the keyboard years? Synths can rock too! Signals was their best synth heavy album imo. Once they got too into the digital rather than analog synths it changed the sound a bit too much.

Cool - glad you liked it Pav. But I really don't think Road to Ruin sounds anything like Rush. I was just throwing out a group that I like from now days. Now IMHO a group (from these days) that definitely been majorly influenced by Rush is Coheed and Cambria. YouTube - Coheed and Cambria: Mother Superior (Live)

No, you're right. R2R does not sound like Rush, just seems like the guitar has some Alex type influence. Kind of like on Test for Echo.

Oh I get ya. Yep Alex is one of the Greats - You can hear his influence coming through in a lot of guitar licks from other artists for sure. His guitar has a trademark sound to it.

I've seen Rush a few times...the first was back in '86 ish during A Show of Hands. Aside from Exit Stage Left and a couple of bootlegs, I'm not a fan of their live recordings, but seeing them live has always been great.
BTW, I had the opportunity to meet Neil Peart back in the '90s and from my limited experience, I'd say he's a very nice guy.

Any of you guys know a woman that likes Rush? I have yet to meet one. Look at the audience at their shows and it's all guys and 95% of them are playing the air drum along with Neil. I do it too everytime I hear them. I just don't get why no women like them. I actually need to wait till my wife leaves the house before I can really get into it and crank it. She calls it noise. WTF?

Most women aren't though. That's why Rush was the perfect band for the movie "I Love You Man."

I've seen Rush 6 or 7 times starting with their "Moving Pictures" tour.

They have to be one of the Best bands to see live and allways put on a Great show. At the Roll the Bones concert I had seats that were very close and had a Fantastic view of Neil Pert.

It blows my mind how complex his work is and yet how easy it seems for him to do it. The time changes he can do are out of this world. And to have written just about of of the lyrics, Wow.

After more than 30 years of performing at such a high level, that in and of it's self is unbelievable, the thought of them Not being in the R&R Hall of Fame is a Crime.

BTW - If you have never listened to Presto or Moving Picture with a Good Pair of headphones, you have truely missed out!

Rush- there is no substitute...

Man it's nice to see other Rush fans here. I've seen most of the tours since Permanent waves, with time out for Hold your Fire and Time Machine. I missed this tour because I'm unemployed for the first time in my adult life.

Bummer.

However, Alex Lifeson was the reason I became a musician, and spent ten years as a working guitarist and owned a studio in Chicago. In my opinion, very few artists reach the abilities or integrity level of these three great gentlemen.

At any rate- nice to see others of the same ilk around. Feels like "double family" since we all vape and "dance on the strings".
