Hello all, my name is Jack and I am from Central Louisiana...I am beyond a noob as I haven't even bought my first PV...I am probably typical because I am suffering from info overload BUT I do want to become a "vape"...I am a heavy smoker...about 2-3pks/day, my wife(aka the poor girl) smokes a pk or less/day...we have found esmokeytreats and their 510 starter kit which we will order one of this weekend...So, just wanted to say hi and if anyone has any particular advice for us, it would be appreciated............thanks

How's it going madjack...WELCOME TO THE ECF. Glad you made the choice to check this forum out. Wished I had done that before I bought my first kit. And yeah, there's WAY to much info on here but after a little bit. You'll get used to it LOL

Anyways, you should definitely do some research on which one to get. Since, there's some ripoff kits being sold out there. If your looking for a cheap 510 kit than I suggest you look at these:

510 Kits
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510
eGo 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

Also, my personal recommendation which is not a 510 but an 808:

Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Volt - Pro Starter Kit - Starter Kits

Hope that helps. I bought a real bad kit at first and wished I knew about the ones above. Would've saved me a lot of money.

I'm a fan of eGo's with 1000 mah batteries for starter systems. But honestly, I think as long as you get something with a decent battery, the rest doesn't matter much when you are starting. You can try different things like ego tanks, or cartomizers, or clearomizers, etc, and you can use one then try out a different one. Things like cartomizers and atomizers don't last anyway - every week or two, maybe every month, you'll wear one out and replace it. So you can try different things either a little at a time or by ordering several options right away.

The battery and charger are the biggest cost in getting started, and the part that will take the longest before you replace it, so as long as you get a battery with enough power, all the rest you can learn along the way.

Greetings madjack! New member here as well. I started out with the N-Joy 510, which was good but I didn't like having to constantly refill the reservoir because it was messy and time-consuming. I switched after a month to the Ego-T eGo Tank Type B, which has a clear reservoir for liquid so you can always see how much you have left, and I absolutely love it. The stronger battery allows for all-day vaping and I love the thick plume of vapor that you get with minimal pull. It's just like smoking analogs to me, which was a big factor in my decision because maintaining the sensation (or illusion) of actually smoking has helped me to quit analogs after 22 years with no stress or anxiety. I literally have smoked less than 10 analogs since making the change in early June, and I even find they don't taste as good now or provide the same satisfaction that they once did.

I have found the folks at Cignot to be incredibly helpful. They have unbelievably fast shipping and a nice selection of liquids to choose from.

Hope this helps and good luck making the switch! I think you will find it's easier than you might expect. I've converted two people at work so far, and both were heavy smokers (2+ ppd compared to my 1 ppd)

Hello and welcome to ecf...good advice so far....I was also a heavy smoker and found the 510 just couldn't keep up with my demanding habit.....Liberty-flights.com has good starter kits....they are based in the UK but have a shop in CA....and cs is great and shipping is only 2.99. They ship priority and eat the remander of the cost for that.
Also offer a 20% discount for ecf members. look here E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings and remember to click on the 20% icon on upper left hand corner.....then look for product....ie...Joye Ego or starter kits, etc.

good luck

gonna throw out some support for a riva starter kit from liberty flights as well-
great prices and a good unit-
if you wanna toss out a lil more cash, for for an ego kit-they warranty those a little longer.
Welcome to the forum though, at first it might seem like info overload, but you might get to the point like myself where
you come here ready to gobble up more and more info.
If you want it to resemble a ciggie more than a small cigar, there are kits out there-but they are not my specialty since i am not really finding that important.

Hi jack. Im fairly new myself but everyone I have spoken to says its a personal choice. personally I like having a bigger battery and using Cartomisers. I spend about £20 a month (not sure what that is in $) If your a heavy smoker i would def get a personal charging case for your 510. I find it invaluable for never running out of power.
I use E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings and they seem really good. Totally wicked e liquid are also handy. Good luck

...thanks for the warm welcome and good info...I am still looking and learning, my wife smokes ,1ppd and likes the 510/510T...but I smoke>2ppd and think the eGos would fit me better...those volts look pretty good as well...will keep on lookin' and learnin'.............
madjack:2cool:

Get the ego! I'm still using mine and love it. Get a box of 2.0 boge cartomizers and juice.

I prefer the 510 (just personal preference) but the Volt might be a great kit for your wife.

Stop reading and order so you can get vaping!! You will be so glad that you did!

Welcome aboard.

An eGo starter kit from Liberty-Flights.com costs $43.00 (with shipping). The eGo is probably one of the best on the market (especially for a beginner). Its what I use... and I love it to death. I have no desire to try anything else.

Liberty-Flights is where I get my eGo's and MadVapes.com is where I get my juices.

MadVapes has the best juice prices I've found, are high quality and have a huge assortment of flavors.

If you choose to take my advice and go with the eGo from Liberty Flights, be sure to enter the 20% off discount code when checking out.

Welcome to ECF!

I'm pretty new myself, almost 2 weeks analog free after almost 20 years 2pad.

I started with gas station garbage BOOO Bad bad bad.

I have a 510 T 900 mah battery+passthrough, which i really like. I am going for a higher voltage mod, which I may make myself.
Cartomizers are great for not having to fill all the time, get the megas for extra mileage.
clearomizers are great for flavor (generally) but crack a lot at the base and therefore leak :( ack I hate that part...
atomizer with drip tip is great to try new flavors, and for high VG juice that doesn't absorb well in the cartomizers

Good luck!
