I just started viewing the classifieds today, However I logged out soon after I ran across a person selling a used zenesis atty -u that 310vapers just sold out of for $300 and it retailed for $139. Then found a few more ggts mods about the same deal so noticed that classifieds weren't for me. It is America and is how the world survives in one manner, but on ecf we are suppose to be a helpful and social community..... so if this is helping anyone by paying 3 times the price for something that will be available again for 1/3 the price then let it be and the person who buys them for that price must be well off and not care about money. As long as there are people willing to pay these outrageous prices there will be people offering them... Should it happen on ecf? Well that's another issue... I was really dissapointed when I viewed the classifieds, cause I thought maybe I could find something I wanted that was out of stock & hard to come across...Its hard enough to afford some of the retail prices of the understocked novelty mods and accessories so to find them a 3 times the value used is unnecessary in my opinion... This is just going to get worse if it continues and the needy get greedy........

Y'all think those prices are bad, go to Zidwicks in Phoenix at 51st and bell road where they charge 10 bucks for a ego atomizer........

Sent from my truck using 3 toasters a broken microwave and 6 rubber bands McGyver style......Chuck Norris aint got crap on me

That store has things like "overhead" to deal with. (Running a business costs money) Classified sellers have no such costs to manage. All their profit goes directly into their pocket. Not a valid thing to compare.

If the forum is going to allow an item to be posted at any price (which is the current policy...and which i 100% agree with) then forum members should have equal freedom to discuss the item (s) up for sale including price, condition, etc. The OP gets to respond to the discussion, and at the very least, the thread gets bumped because of the free exchange of information between forum members.

This is really not a problem. I always check current prices of something if I am interested in buying or selling something. It is called being aware. Personally if I am selling something I try to put a fair price on it, but if I am buying something I will research it. I do not need anyone putting limits on what people are wanting to charge for something. I am smart enough to not pay $300 for a $150 item. But for the people that do, sorry about your luck and stupidity. I am so tired of people saying that someone else needs to police things because people are too stupid to research and check things out for themselves.

The basic questions to asked are:

1 who is the victim
2 who decides who is a victim
3 who should protect the victim

I invent modx. I make 22 of them. I sell them. Somebody decides to sell serial 16. They bought it for $100. I can put you on a list, but it will be 8 months till you get one. Owner of 16, Dave doesn't like it and realizes everyone loves modx. He list on ECF for 300. He gets it on a classy, since Mark wants it that bad.

Amy thinks he is a chump. People who pay 3x retail are victims. Does ECF step in? On what basis? Since ECF decides that Mark is a victim?

Is Mark a victim if he is happy?

Duche buys serial 9 10 11 and 12. He pays what everyone else does. He sells each on ECF for 110. Is everyone happy? Mark gets a second for 110. He is the happiest guy alive. Paul gets one too. He is happy. Duche realizes he can ask $350. He does on ECF. Steve gets the last of the three at that price.

Douche did it to cash in. He did. The people who bought are happy. Amy thinks Paul got screwed, that he is a victim.

ECF decides that 2x is the standard for victimization. It has decided that 2x is naughty, and people who decide to pay that price are rubes. Duche is banned.

Has a good thing been done? Am I happy as a mod maker? Perhaps I am the only "victim". Perhaps $100 was the root of this whole debacle?

Let's be real here. I've been on that classified forum since May 2012. In that time there have been only a handful of threads where people are pointing fingers and quoting prices. A HANDFUL! Not mass hysteria, not total chaos! A HANDFUL! In every case the OP was obviously over pricing the item. When someone points out the retail price, where to buy for retail or even where to get on the waiting list, the OP get's all .... HURT!! If the price was fair, why get all .... hurt about someone pointing out the truth? Because we blew your chance to rip someone off, THAT'S WHY! Boo ... hoo...I'm trying to rake someone over the coals and these mean people are making it hard for me to do it! THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!

If your item isn't selling there's two reasons for it. Neither of which is the fault of people commenting on your price.

1. Nobody want's that crap. I've seen people selling all manner of junk. No telling what they will try and sell. Old nasty used drip tips, Old juice, you name it. A buddy and I joke that we could sell our cap juice from the Zen's and someone would buy it if we priced it low enough. Bottom line is your junk is not everyone elses treasure. If it's so good, why are you selling it then? Profit? If so then you should be subject to members scrutany.

2. Your price is too high. I don't care what you paid for it. Threads that don't sell in 24 hours should be removed. There should be a rule that you can't re-list the same thing for the same lame ... price too. If your item and price was that hot it would have sold in under 3 hours. All good deals sell in this time! PERIOD! I say 24 hours and your junk gets booted. You can sell anything IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT! Not selling an item? Charge less.... Or here's an idea....KEEP YOUR JUNK! Don't cry that people don't want your items. Just because you were dumb enough to buy it doesn't mean we should free you up of it at any price.

I'm 100% for people charging whatever they want. I'm totally against any rules that prevent this. BUT, I'm equally against rules that prevent the members at large from comment on these sales. As long as the question or comment is formed in a non inflamatory way, why should ECF care? If price comment is not allowed, neither should random bumps be either. They are not related to the sale and are abused by other gougers/scalpers to keep their posts on top. If one guy can say "Wow, great price and a great member...buy with confidence" for a guy selling a Zenesis standard for $450, why can't I question that "Great price" and "Great member"?

mark and steve are both stupid,in both buying and in life !!

ECF banning duche and dave won't fix anything

Kinda getting personal there, don't ya think? People shouldn't be allowed to comment on sale threads, but you should be allowed to say that stuff? Double standard much?

What's a "duche"?

The original price should be listed i think, same as ukvapers atleast people will know right there what is the price of X item; ive bought overpriced stuff in the past :) hard to get item with like a 2 month wait and i didnt know the original price, vaptamist pm me and told me in a good way thati basically got jacked lol but with me being all excited i didnt really give too much attention but after that its not the same cause now im aware about other forums and see the mods list etc, you see regular names in the classifieds here buying 2-3 and even more of the same stuff and the moment it hits there hand is listed here :D i really dont give a damm about the price they sell but atleast the forum admins can make then list the original price.

Sometimes you see threads with over 4 pages of bumps of people asking "why is these still here?" wtf lol or stating that is a great seller etc etc, if you are a regular on the classifieds you will notice is basically the same people.... (No need to post nicknames) i now dont post on such people threads but life grace with a lot of free time and i just pm people that show interest ;) a lot of "good deals" have been passed these way lol with these its clear that people will be interest in knowing the real prices of a lot of items ! Not everyone is aware.

Btw i agree with the idea of some around here should have the "register supplier" motto :p you can see a lot of people that every single post is classified section.
