I had my headphones in and left my mech unlocked (doesn't fire usually, paps v4).
Took my headphones out picked up the mech, really hot.
I've put it outside to cool down (with the atty I'm using :nah:), it's well safe at 1.2 with an AW 18490 battery. Will it just have drained the battery?
Will I be able to use it once it's cooled down and charged again?

Man,

I dunno, but batteries are relatively inexpensive. Where's the voltage at when it cools down? How hot is really hot? I'd toss that cell if it were me.

Damn...
Not too hot for me to pick up at all and take a few steps to the back door. I think too hot to hold on to for a length of time (not that I'd want to).
Should I check the voltage when it's cooled if it's anywhere above 3.6 is it a keeper or would you still toss it?

for my piece of mind I'd toss it, others may feel it's OK, but you don't know how hot the battery got. I'd guess the mod heated up from the coil and atomizer, not from the battery Discharging, but the unknowns would lead me to not trust that cell anymore. Like I said, batteries are cheap.

Yeah I suppose. Just took the atty off and put it on another mod. That's a whole tank full of juice as well!
Tastes kinda weird. Like a burnt edge to it.
Edit;
I've changed the cotton but maybe the coil is doing it.

Maybe the juice got a little cooked too.

Okay. It's at 3.66 now and I think I overestimated in the firing time probably somewhere around 3.8 when it began.
Checked it. In perfect condition looks wise.

@Mooch if your around I'd appreciate your opinion

    Thanks

There's just no way for me to know.
For me, batteries are dirt cheap. They're practically free considering how long they last. I replace them if I ever question whether they've been damaged beyond normal wear.

Kinda decided the same based on everyone's opinions. Glad you think the same.
    Thanks

Is this the mod that you replaced the switch? It normally shouldn't fire on a smooth surface.

I have replaced the switch. How did you know that? I must have mentioned it.

Although it is usually fine but I have noticed with such a short throw, even a crumb, a little bit of salt on the table has caused it to fire.
I'll just be careful next time and make sure it's locked when I'm not using it.

Yeah those have a hair trigger for sure.

    FWIW
I use my old 18490s in those cheapo flashlights from harbor freight that use 3 AAA cells. :)
