Well, I've got Four, so that should keep me going for a while.

I have got to read up on this tank cracking business. Yikes.

Thanks.

While there is still a lot that we don't know about the effects of some of the ingredients in liquids, especially flavorings, it's likely not as bad as it sounds.

It's just a reaction that some juices have with certain types of plastic. A reasonable comparison might be to look at how chlorine bleach reacts with ammonia. Bleach is generally considered safe to use and most of us keep some in our households on a regular basis. We even swim in swimming pools with chlorine in them.

Mix that generally harmless bleach with some ammonia and you have a very toxic substance. It's kind of the same thing with some liquids and some plastics. The liquid is generally considered safe to use. It just doesn't go well with certain types of plastic.

I don't think the liquid itself is going to melt your lungs or other bodily tissues but I wouldn't recommend vaping it from a tank of which it melted the plastic. That same liquid should be fine when vaped from a glass tank.

Saundhaus, have you tried Halo's low resistance cartomizers? If not, I highly recommend you order a pack of them. They'll give you more flavor, more vapor, and a warmer throat hit. The ONLY negative is you'll get slightly shorter battery life, but as long as you carry more than one battery with you I bet you'd be more satisfied with them.

They're kind of hidden on the site. They're on the bottom row of the Cartomizers page: http://www.halocigs.com/g6-low-resistance-cartomizers.html

How much would it shorten the life on a 650mAh Triton battery? I usually am only out for about 4 hours at a time. Otherwise I'm at home.
By life, we'll assume you mean discharge time.

OK, I'll do the math, with some assumptions. Everything rounded to a tenth, cause this is ROUGH!!
At 3.9 volts (average output for a Li-Ion like Triton or G6)
Regular carts are 2.4 to 2.8 ohm and low resistance carts are 2.1 to 2.3 ohm.
Since batteries are in mAh, we figure Amps first. Amps = Volts divided by Ohms
So..
Ohms_ Amps_HourEst
2.1____1.9___ 6.0
2.3____1.7___ 6.6
2.4____1.6___ 6.9
2.8____1.4___ 8.0

Assuming you get 8 hours from the 2.8 ohm carto, you'd get only 6 with a 2.1, assuming you take as many hits for the same amount of seconds.

This is all moot if you find you don't like the hotter (maybe burnt) low res cartos.

OK, have to say I tried one of my carto's again this morning. My mini-tanks have a few little cracks and leak a bit and figured I'd try a carto on my trip out this morning. Turns out I liked it a lot now that I've cleaned them and put a different juice in them. I can see the benefit to bringing a carto or two out with you when you go out to a party. They fit with the Triton pretty well and if I put the tip from one of the mini tanks on they work pretty good. I also like the fact that I don't have to worry about leakage since I can bring my Halo case for them with me and keep them capped until I decide to use them. Glad I didn't toss them after I used them once.

hey Eric, get one of these to clean your Carto's...been using the same 5 pack since i bought my gear...put the adapter tip on the syringe then put the metal connector side of your Carto inside the adapter tip on the other end then draw distilled water thru it & squirt it back out...about three or 4 times and your carto is like brand new....just don't squirt the water back out to hard or you'll blow the poly-fill out of the carto.

I'll definitely pick one up tomorrow if I can't find one at home. I just soaked them in some hot water for a couple of hours and that seemed to work well with the pen cap and lanyard drying method. I did have one carto that the polyfill slid up when I was opening it that I'll try and see if I ruined it or not. At least I've got 4 more to get some more use out of.

I tend to use tanks for my daily use liquids, mostly because I prefer the cleaner taste - I find that the flavors "open up" much more and I can taste a lot more of the subtleties. Also, they're easier to fill, because you don't have to wait for the polyfill to wick during filling. also, You can see exactly how much you got left in the tank, so if you're running out the door you can see if you need to top off real quick.

However, I do use cartos as well, for some of the more aggressive flavors - SubZero for example is too strong a flavor for my taste, and I find that a carto mellows it out enough to enjoy occasionally. Since it's not really one of my go-to vapes, I can save a couple pennies by keeping it in a carto instead of a tank. Belgian Cocoa is another that I find is great in a carto.

OP: to comment on one of your original statements, I had been using a carto for Turkish until today (I'm about 4 weeks into vaping now) and just switched to a tank on that one. LOVE it. Give it a try!
