So my Mom is complaining of a slight irritation/scratch in her throat with her new e-cig, a SmokeLiberation ATOM (Joye 301 or whatever).

She has so far really only used the included sample cartridges. I was thinking of getting her some Johnson Creek juice.

What is generally the culprit? The cartridges? PG vs. VG? The device itself?

Also, and I know this is a separate question, is Johnson Creek "good" viz a viz what the FDA is saying? Do people here still generally trust them?

Thanks.

I've been seeing a lot of people with this lately. I had it in the beginning but it went away after about a week. Have her drink plenty of water and/or tea. Hard candy helps also. I had to keep a bottle of water by my bed because I would get a scratchy throat at night but it did clear up and I don't have any problems now.

on the johnson creek topic, I've heard nothing but negative things about them in terms of shipping, customer service, and quality of products

They have always been a little slow in the shipping dept but I never had a problem with the customer service. I have only tried the TN Cured in the new version and it is no where near as tasty as the old version. Adding the caramel makes it a lot better but I'm not going to be buying anymore unless they go back to the old formula.

I'm quite suspicious of stuff coming out of China

When it comes to e-juice I wouldn't be. They are, at the moment, as capable--if not more--to create a high level of quality control on their products. They have medical and governmental standards in place and more resources from what I've seen.

China is not the demon that you see on western media, nor is it a back water, under developed country. Saying that would be like looking at W. Virginia and saying "This is what America is like all over"

I'm not saying either, US suppliers or Asian, are bad. Both are good places to buy from (even many US suppliers get their juice from China or India). What i am saying is, don't dismiss China outright because of a misconception the modern media might be portraying.

Hell lets pump their economy up a bit while we're at it so maybe they'll take awhile to call in their loans to the U.S. lol. "Save our nation! Buy Chinese!" (sorry, a little financial joke there.) That being said, most people choose US brands for the quicker delivery times and with shipping charges Chinese juice needs to be cheaper to compete.

On the topic of the "scratchy throat" it happens. Mine was itchy the first few days. I was aware of what it was though because while in the military I chewed tobacco when deployed or in the field and had similar reactions. It's your body compensating for a new delivery method of nicotine.

in regards to the throat issue. i get the same thing if i vape a lot. as mentioned just drink some water or more any thing although water is great to keep you hydrated. in regards to the JC stuff from what i was told from JC is that when you order from them they make the bottles fresh just for you. they do not have the juice stocked up. so it takes a couple of days for them to process the order and make the juice, then they ship it. thus the extra time to get it.

I suggested to Johnson Creek that it would be in their best interest to disclose exactly what was in their new juice. They have flat out refused to do so after two seperate requests. Personally, I'm not inhaling anything where the ingredients are not disclosed. But thats just me...
