I have had a screwdriver for a month and some, and haven't had any problems other than the switch getting loose. However a brand new problem presented it's self last night and happened again tonight just now. I was wondering what the juice I was vaping on would taste like in a 901 atty so I took off the adapter and put the 901 on, no problems. I went back to the 510, screwed on the atomizer and no go... I fixed it last night by just using a different adapter on it (same kind just different piece) but that isn't working now.

The atomizer doesn't fire at all when I push the button but soon as I put a 901 back on bam it works...

I tested all of my atomizers on different devices and they all work so it's not the atomizer. It's sown to one or two things- the adapter pieces or the body itsself. I clean my screwdriver pretty regularly FYI, no build up is possible. Maybe a little but highly unlikely. Help :(

I dont have a screwdriver but it sounds like it is shorting ! is the battery getting hot at all ? be careful do not keep the switch depressed to long it can cause the battery to over heat .

Do you have an ohm meter and a 510 connector ? if so put the connector on it ( batteries removed !!!! ) and test the resistance between the center post and threads it should read HIGH or in the mag ohm range. If it is shorted then it will read less than 1 ohm.

Hope this helps ?

It could be shorting,, but if the 901s work and the 510 works on other devices...

I would venture to guess that it's either your adaptor or mostlikely you pushed the center post of your atty in (the center part of the connector end) that is a common problem when using an atty in multiple devices... try ever so slightly pull the center post of the atty out a bit.. using either your finger nail or an object small enough to do the task

pry it around evenly.. but you only need to move it out a hair so don't go crazy and pull it out completely...

try that out and you should be good

The batteries aren't shorting I'm pretty sure- and I don't have an ohm meter :(. The battery is never warm or hot to the touch it stays very cool and works consistently but who knows---

Do adapters get faulty over time usually? I don't see how BOTH of my adapters could be bad, but it's weird that when my screwdriver stopped working with my 510 last night, I slapped the other adapter on and it worked perfectly fine again...

Thanks for this post I was having this same thing happing with my SDMKll also. The attys where not making contact after they had been used on other PV's. I will have to remember to not switch out the atty's I use on this device. The 901's were not working unless I used an adpter for a 901 / 808 then they would be OK.

Sorry for the EXTREMELY late update - but I did eventually fix the problem. It turned out to be the adapter after all . The little rubber o-ring and center post somehow fell out, so, the adapter itsself was not able to make contact with the SD. I got new adapters and compared the new ones to the old ones, sure enough, I could actually see through the old ones like they were just hollow metal pieces, and the new ones were intact-- o-ring/center post and all. So yeah, if you are using 510's on your SD and it suddenly stops firing make sure to check the adapter before doing anything drastic :)
