I bought the SE Gold, and realized right off that I had paid too much, or so I thought as I read these forums. But as I look for replacement parts for the rn4081 I'm finding it really hard to find anybody selling batts and attys for this thing. So considering how hard they are to find, is the higher price they charge actually fair?
Seems every site I go to has parts for the 901, the 510, etc...
I'm going to buy the 510 or the VX2, I havent decided, but I'd like to keep this RN4081 going as well, I like it very much actually.
So I called the Kiosk guy I bought this at and he's offering me an atty, usb, carts, and a batt for $70. What do you guys think? Is there a place I can get it cheaper or should I just go there and get it already?

Digital Smoke Shop has super-minis which are compatible with the RN4081 as far as I know.

Battery: $16.99
USB charger: $19.95
Atomizer: $12.50

So the kiosk guy isn't offering that bad of a deal.
And I assume you will be able to get it from him right away if you need to.

But on the other hand you can also get a super-mini USB kit from Digital Smoke Shop for $56.95

-battery
-atomizer
-USB charger
-15 ml bottle of juice

I'm sure there are a lot of other places out there.
You just need to find out what is compatible with the RN4081 model.

If you can't find RN4081 Batteries, order batteries for the DS103. Same thing. I'm using DS103 batteries right now.

RN4081 Atomizers? Get them at;
Heaven-gifts.com Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop
$5.50 each. Get enough to last.
$9.00 each for DSE103 batteries.

CAUTION: The DSE103 atomizers will fit a RN4081 BUT!!!!
If you use DSE103 atomizer, you MUST use DSE103 Cartridges.
If you use RN4081 Atomizer, you MUST use RN4081 Cartridges.

Questions?? Just ask.
Cheers;
jd

Here's another one in the long list of SE/Npro/4081 problems:

I bought an NPro (RN4081) last Sunday, and struggled mightily with it as far as getting good, consistent draws. So on Monday afternoon I ordered a 510 (Yeti) with a manual battery, got it on Wednesday, and I just love that thing.

We should put a big flashing sign on the front of the forum warning about this brand and model. It easily has more issues than any other.

Honestly, I use the RN4081 exclusively and love it. No problems at all. I have 401's for back up, but don't use them at this time.

It would be hard to understand if you tried a high performance PV such as the SD or PD how you could not see the difference. Either you have very low expectations or you are one of the few exceptions. There are just too many reports on here and locally of frustration and disappointment with the brand/model.

I bought the Gold Kit three months ago from a mall kiosk. First time I ordered supplies for it, I ordered them through SE's website (mistake considerineg I didn't know i had an SE gold and accidentally ordered mini carts, batts and attys--returned em easy enough though). Second time, I ordered supplies for the supermini off Totally Wicked's US site. They work fine and I actually prefer their brand icon to SE's.
However, a month ago, I got a DSE901 and it has left my RN4081 in the dust. It's easier to pull, the battery lasts a little longer and has much more vapor. I keep my supermini as a backup. In hindsight, I'm glad I got a supermini because the psychological likeness of an analog helped me to quit. However, I wish I hadn't bought it from Smoking Everywhere--I could have bought two for the same price.

I actually *did* try an SD once, and was not impressed. Also tried the 901 which was good, and a few others. I get excellent hits and flavor from the mini's with stock batteries. I also cut the voltage on my passthrough and get much better performance from it, with no burnt taste. High performance isn't always the answer for practicality.

And as for the DSE 103 - if you use the atomiser on a usb passthrough which you plug into a usb battery like the Battech - you'll be a happy feller imho.

Right on target pipeman. The 103's are great for that, but the 4081 attys seem to perform excellent on lower voltages. And since they're interchangeable with the 103's, you sort of get a 2 for 1 deal.

Interesting responses. I wonder at all this 4081 bashing that goes on. I understand that some e-cigs produce more vapor, etc.. But not everyone is looking to lose themselves in a cloud of vapor. I am happy just getting my nic intake from something inconspicuous, small, and healthier than a cig. The 4081 does that.
There seams to be a bit of elitism that runs through some in the vaping community. I don't understand it. We were all different kinds of smokers.. diff. brands, pipe, cigs, cigars, amount, etc. Why should we all be the same type of vapers? Though I may get another type of e-cig, for the hell of it, the 4081 does what I need, especially with my work requirements and lifestyle. Isn't that all that matters?
To the folks who offered suppliers and info, thank you very much! Unfortunately I am now on the opposite situation now.. my pv is charged and ready, but I'm waiting on my e-juice in the mail! Grrrrrrr.... these analogs are making me grumpy!
I need to make sure I never run out of supplies again... I wish I wasn't so broke. lol

If that works for you, then that is great. When you read literally hundreds of post from unhappy users of this type of PV and then your read literally hundreds of posts of users quite happy with manual switch PV's and combine that with your own experience, then it is not elitisum but a statisical certainty that more people are more satisfied with manual switch PV's. Combine that with the physical science of "heating" an atomizer longer actually vaporizers liquid better, then it's just plain common sense. And one other point, all of the people who go to all of the trouble of building a mod - what do they build? a manual switch PV with a larger battery. People gravitate towards what works better, not what works less well.

Apples and Oranges.
If I want super vapor and a huge hit, your right, that is the way to go.
If you want something you can use at work without everyone looking and asking questions, then its not.
One PV does one thing, the other does another. To compare them is to lose sight of what they are being used for. At my job, a SD would be a disastor, so it may as well be garbage. What good is a pv that I can't use in a situation?
Maybe it would be better to point out WHAT each are good for instead of telling everybody to have an apple, when they need an orange.
And no, its not elitist to OPINE on what is better, what is elitist is speaking to people as if what they choose/need is somehow LESS than what YOU would choose/need.
Not that you personally have done so BTW, just a general comment on some comments I've seen on the board.

This happens with any group. Gear-based hobbies tend to attract this kind of my-gear's-better-than-your-gear discussion. As someone with multiple hobbies, I have seen this on many forums including:
espresso machines (all machines under $2k are junk),
cameras (serious photographers use Canon L lenses),
SCUBA diving (spend the most you can, it's life-support equipment)
Classical Guitars (any guitar under $4k is a toy)
etc.

No different here

Jim, I believe what you are saying. I also believe you are the exception in your expectations for a PV. From all the polls and posts on what users are looking for, longer lasting batteries that are cheap and give stronger "punch" and won't get gummed up, the SD, PD, etc, seem a good bit more popular.

Sounds right to me.

I'm probably not explaining myself properly. My preferred e-cig is identical to one of the most overpriced models going right now. I'm seeing these people having trouble with something they may have spent their last dollar on. They're discouraged, and sometimes angry.

My goal is to show them they can learn on it, and keep it running cheaply during the process. Once they get familiar with the system, they're in good shape. That once overpriced unit is now their cheap back-up.

Once they stop driving dads station wagon into the curb, they can go out and buy that Ferrari.

The RN4081 is very good for dripping, as I found out today.
And that makes me happy, because now I will change my plans to mothball it.

But it ain't good for smoking.
Take that for whatever you think it's worth.

Exactly! Not good for smoking at all! I can't smoke my RN4081 (SE) at all. Every time I put it near my mouth with a cart, all I get is fluid. So I use it only for dripping. I am now enjoying a happy relationship with my 1st purchase that is now my back up.:D

And that's exactly what I'm trying to accomplish here. In other words, it wasn't a total waste of time & money.
