RE: MY POSTS

As it is currently, it's chronologically showing your own posts with excerpts, not just threads chronologically based on other people posting to the thread. And it's showing multiple instances of your posts within the same thread.

The way it was before it only showed thread titles (without excerpts) of threads you have posted in, ordered chronologically by the threads with the most recent posts by OTHER people - which is what made it useful.

You can duplicate what we're looking for, by following these steps:

-Click on "Advanced Search"
-Click on "Search Single Content Type" tab
-Type your own username in the "User Name" field
-Click on "Search Now" button (it's already defaulted to show results as threads)

ETA: For everybody who wants the "My Posts" you're used to, you can follow those steps for now until Alex gets it squared away:

P.S. Right now, if I follow the above step, except use the "Search Multiple Content Type" instead of the "Single", it's in the proper format, but the results are majorly screwy. There appears to be something VERY wrong with that Multiple Content search.

But if you follow the steps above as given, it works perfectly - like the good 'ole "My Posts" used to work.

BTW, thanks for your efforts! :)

P.P.S. All of a sudden, I'm guessing since you made the last changes, everytime I reply and click 'Submit', it's acting as if I never clicked 'Submit' and my message is still sitting there in the input window. But the message was indeed submitted, and clicking Submit again says "You can't post more often than 30 seconds" (paraphrased)

unfortunately, this is not working at 7am and as you said this was a most useful feature, let me change that THE most useful feature imo

The actual "My Posts" button isn't working correctly, but if you follow those steps I gave in my first post in this thread, it does work - I just tried it. Make sure you are using the "Search SINGLE Content Type" tab, or just click this link: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/search.php?search_type=1
and type your username in the "User Name" field and click "Search Now"

Thanks for the explanation... I'm semi sure it's how it used to be now.

Right now.. at this exact moment.. it looks good... except it doesn't update ("Search took 0.29 seconds; generated 9 minute(s) ago. ")

P.S. Still something horribly wrong with posting replies though.....

Lastly side effect: it may take up to 60 seconds before posts appear in search

ALEX: I know you said (above) that posts may take ~60 seconds to appear in search, but right now it's been ~50 minutes and a thread I posted in is still not showing up using the "My Posts" button. Not a huge deal, and I'm sure you have more pressing concerns, (or, you know, just having a little fun on Labor Day w/end) but I thought you might want to know.

On a more positive note, the new search capabilities are great! Good work!:toast:

ALEX: It's me again! Tired of me yet?

Other than the issue I mentioned above about recent posts taking quite a while (sometimes a few hours) to show up in "My Posts" - I just now noticed something else...

The results no longer seem to be listed chronologically based on the last post to the thread - it's all slightly mixed up. In fact, I'm not sure what order they are listed in. I looked at all the variables and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the order. They're *close* to chronological, but not quite, which is pretty weird.

Just lettin' you know...

Though, I gotta say, the forum performance is starting to get downright zippy - pages are loading quite quickly and it doesn't feel like the old days of surfing on dial-up modems anymore!

@volt found bug in vB code, hopefully it's fixed now.

ALEX: It's significantly better now... before the "My Posts" search results were very roughly chronological, now they are less roughly chronological, but they are still not completely so. Strange bug, that one.

Here's a list of the order that my first 13 results are in currently:
