Second batch arrived...

My first batch of juice was from FSUSA. I just got my second batch today from that 50% off sale from Gourmet Vapor. I haven't tried anything but the maiden coffee yet, but I am liking it a lot. It actually tastes like "coffee flavored coffee" (See: Dennis Leary). It was a bit thick, and as I am running out of juice from my first order, I don't have time to just let them steep at this point. Anyway, I also got some other flavors such as caramel apple, waffles, Mounds, atomic fireball, chocolate cherry, and my own creation of Malibu Rum and Coke, which surprisingly enough smells just like it, but probably will taste like crap.

Anyway, my first order from FSUSA was all 50/50 pg/vg, and this time around I ordered all 80/20 and am noticing the TH seems to be a bit dry and a little more harsh. Guess it's just something I'll have to try and get used to. I probably should have ordered a variety of pg/vg mixes, but oh well. I did it this way because it was a site recommendation for a good flavor/vapor ratio, and that seems to be the case so far, though I haven't tried any of the other flavors just yet and likely won't for several days since I will just finish the carto that I have and then fill and try another one.

Oh, I waited to use the Boge soft caps until this batch arrived. These have a much easier draw on them then the Joye 510 carto's I've noticed and due to their design they don't seem to get that overfilled bubbling that causes juice to flow into my mouth, even though I did overfill. I just shook it up (some cracking the whip method I read about) and was able to fit probably about 30 or so drops into it, and it's vaping like a champ.

I got the Waffles and Maiden Coffee also. I haven't had time to try the coffee yet, but the Waffles is sooo yummy. Also got the RY4, Cappucinno, 555, and Fired Cured Honey Tobacco. Steep?? Who has time for that?

lol pending on the flavors i do lol and considering the flavors i got from them today they taste like soapy crap so i dont have much choice unless i want to relive the first time i cursed in front of my parents when i was 4 and ate some Dove

I have a few gastro intestinal issues such as GERd and a possible ulcer, so I try to stay away from caffeine and anything overly acidic like coffee. I haven't had so much as a coke for over two years and even longer for coffee, even decaf. So I was very pleasantly surprised with this. I am vaping it a ton just to keep that flavor flowing! It tastes almost exactly as a freshly opened bag of french roast would smell. On my next order I will probably get a 120ml bottle of this stuff. the only issue I noticed was how thick it was. I couldn't get it to drip into my carto really because of the thickness, so it may cause some issues after a few refills I am thinking.

I got a 80/20 pg/vg ratio. I shouldn't have said it doesn't drip. It does, but because it's so thick, before one drop is finished, another one seems to be coming out right behind it, as if it's trying to pour out rather than drip. I am using carto's though so it's not a big deal really except possible overfilling, but if you were to drip on an atty, I could see where it might be a little tough to get the right drips without accidentally "pouring" more onto the atty.

I order quite a bit of juice from Gourmet Vapor, and it will improve if you steep it for a week or so. Nice review.

I will begin to do actual reviews on the liquid review forum once I am more established as a vaper and know the major differences of vapor, TH, and flavor once I've tried several things. I did notice that this maiden coffee does have a higher TH than any of the FSUSA juices I got, but that could be because of the Boge carto's over the Joye 510 carto's too, or it could just be the specific flavors I've experienced (7 total so far). I do have 7 more flavors sitting there that I will eventually get to, but I am enjoying this coffee one so much that I don't even care about those. And I really want to taste my Malibu Rum and Coke concoction I made up, especially since it smells exactly like the real deal, but I can't be bothered with it right now. Hell, after a few beers I would normally be having a half an analog by now, but this stuff is kicking my ... enough that I don't even have the craving. It could also be that my first batch was 50/50 and this is 80/20. The dry TH is the only issue I have a slight problem with, but I should be used to that and the coughing from analogs already, so I figure it's just something to deal with and get used to over time. With lots of water.

P.S. And my sig counter isn't completely true. I started that after my birthday when I went like 40 hours without an analog. But I am still at 2-3 a day max, so I figure it's just a small white lie so I don't have to keep resetting it.

P.S.S. Oh yeah, and I don't have any analogs right now anyway. And I don't have access to a car this evening. So, this is tricky. Ask my mom to grab me a pack while she's out and drop it off, or take the chance without them and become Mr. ..... from a sudden craving. I think I will ask her to drop a pack off just in case. I want to quit, but I am not in so much of a rush that I want to become "that guy". Even though I have a couple lumps on my lungs that haven't had a biopsy yet, it's still going much much better than I ever expected.

It's got a decent TH, good vapor and as I said, tastes very similar to the actual drink.

Vivictus - You can add more VG by getting Glycerin from Walmart (on the shelf above the rubbing alcohol products in the pharmacy section) for $3 for 177mL. Start out by adding 5%, then 10%, then 15%, etc, until you find the right amount for you. A lot of people use Glycerin from Walmart or Wilton from Michaels Craft store. There are several YouTube videos where the guys are adding 50%, but for me, that would be way too much to add and dilutes the flavor too much. I've found that 10 to 15% Glycerin is about right for me, when using 80/20 liquids from FSUSA.

Some of your recently received liquids might be much more flavorful after they've steeped for a week or two. I received four 120mL bottles from FSUSA yesterday, and I've had the tops off from all four bottles since yesterday afternoon to allow oxygen in, which helps them steep faster. I'm vaping some caramel right now, and it's not bad, but there should be much more flavor in a week.

I'm not sure on this, and I've never used the Joye 510 cartos, but I can tell you that when I used the eGo Mega cartomizers (made of plastic just like the Joye 510 cartos), the flavor and throat hits weren't as good as I get using the Boge 510 cartos or the KR808D-1 cartos. The taste was more like plastic and just bland.

Throat hits are mainly from the level of the battery power and the nicotine level. It's been proven by another user here (A.p.) that PG and VG have nothing to do with throat hits.

Also, when I mentioned adding Glycerin, that will give you more vapor (but don't add too much or it will dilute the flavor too much).

I would love to allow it to all steep, but I need to wait until I have the funds to buy a huge batch to allow for that. right now my old juices were almost out, so I have to just make do with what I have now. I have no complaints about flavor or anything on any of them to be honest. Then again, I've only tried 7 from FSUSA and only two from this last order so far. I even had a buddy of mine try my malibu rum and coke flavor and he was nearly floored from the TH he got and also admitted it tasted almost identical. If I have an analog anymore I notice I have to take a HUGE drag in order to come anywhere near as close to the TH I am getting from my Riva. My lungs hurt sometimes because of this thing.

Well, if you're not gonna vape the rest of what you have tonight, then it will steep between now and when you actually vape it. If you have any juice left at this moment, it's steeping as we speak.

If your lungs (and/or throat) are hurting, it usually means the nicotine level is too much (which causes the harshness and soreness).

If you're using a 5volt passthrough, a sore throat and sore lungs could be caused from the warmer vapor (which will gradually burn the inside of my mouth, throat, and lungs).

The nic level might be too high, but my 50/50 juices seemed to be alright after that initial breaking in period, and those were also 24mg. I am thinking it's how much I am inhaling at a time compared to analogs. Also I still have the occasional cough where I am still expelling the crap out of my lungs.I will see how it goes over the next day or two and if it doesn't improve I will go get some VG and dilute it a little bit.
