Is there any nicotine in exhaled vapor? I was riding with a co-worker (he don't smoke but chews tobacco) I notice he rolled his window down once when I accidentally exhaled vapor towards him one day, It was a small cloud at that...lol

My guess is there is in a diminished state or small levels.

I would think that would be the biggest concern of anyone in public places.

Previous link had to be broken as an FYI. The study is being presented to a medical congress in Europe and the study cannot be published and be presented. I can tell you however that the levels of nicotine in exhaled vapor was almost nil and at levels barely measurable by the testing equipment. So there is more to be concerned about walking next to your downtown streets with the car exhaust than there is with an ecig.

The more I look at some of these studies the more skeptical I get about second hand vapor. I'm still going to try to keep an open mind and I'm also not going to blow vapor in anyone's face...but I really think that standing outside in the sun for ten minutes is more "hazardous" to your health.

There is a thing called common courtesy that some people, vapers included tend to forget. Just because it's not harmful doesn't mean you do it. I don't stand next to friends, family or coworkers and exhale in their face vaping or not. It's just plain rude IMHO.

Nicotine is almost odorless, take it from a DIY juicer maker. On top of that it's absorbed by contact the second it hits your lips, tongue, cheeks, throat, and lungs BOTH ways. This is the science behind nicotine patches on your skin. The common consensus is that all that is exhaled is common steam with a hint of (food grade) flavoring - the same stuff you release in the kitchen when you cook. That said, I am not a scientist and I am not qualified to make this assessment, so I would never vape around children unless you are outside; especially those who are newborn because of SIDS. Don't be that person. Nobody wants to add "Baby Killer" to their life resume'.

Maybe its just my upbringing but I treat vaping like smoking. I don't vape up when in company of non-smokers or non-vapors, just because it may cause them discomfort. I was recently in a restaurant where a guy started vaping at his table. People freaked out. Now you and I know theoretically, he was causing no harm. We've all seen the ads about our right to vape where smoking is restricted, but why cause the fuss and bother? Btw, restaurant management threatened to eject him if he didn't cease immediately, he became indignant and outraged. To me, he was in the wrong to have distressed so many diners.

This is to answer the op question. Flavour Art did a air quality study to see if second hand vapor could contain nicotine. The study showed that there was absolutely no traces of nicotine in exhaled vapor! Not even in the ppm(parts per million)!!! This proves that there's no second hand transfer of with vaping nicotine. However, like previously stated it is a matter of courtesy when vaping in someone else car not to blow vapor at them.

This info puts my mind at rest as I am still very mindful of the exhaled vapor around non smokers and have been wondering this myself. (I have a couple of friend staying in my house with my wife for a few months and they are fitness freaks)

When I am around people that dont smoke and in a car, house, etc..., I just make sure I am vaping something delicious if indoors like Lemon coconut cookie which smells (and tastes) awesome! Especially with a little cherry added for that extra sweetness...

I will still be mindful not to chain vape too much and exhale in the opposite direction as people are very visual in perception of things despite the facts...

Some will always believe ""where theres "smoke" theres fire""
