The second hand vape may or may not be harmful as I don't think anyone really knows but I doubt that there is anything harmful about it. After saying that I think it is a perception thing and I would abide by her wishes. I go to the smoking section at work just because of the perception that I am smoking.

Just my opinion..not worth much and won't get you a cup of coffee..:)

I make sure I don't vape in her house, of course, but what I'm asking is, if I blow vapor in her face from two eliquids, one with nicotine, and one without, would her body react in any different way? more importantly, if I'm simply in another room, and not blowing vapor in her face, would there be any biological response?

It would be hard to say if you blew vape in her face with or without nic as she might have some kind of allergy to PG or flavoring or nic. I doubt that if you were in another room there would be any effect at all but I don't know for sure.

I have been vaping around people and no one has had any kind of reaction at all except to say that smells good.

"Sensitivity" could be from a bazillion things ...... an odor, menthol, any acidic residue ...... who knows.
Unless someone is DIYing coffe flavored juice, I don't think there would be caffeine anywhere in it. Nitrates are normally a food additive or from foods ......
But bottom line is that it is her house, her rules. :)

One of my friends doesn't allow vaping in her house. I'm wondering if there is any reason, other than personal preference, for that.

If it matters, caffeine and nitrates give her palpitations, and she's a R.N. She knows what she's talking about, if it involves nursing experience.

That's funny.

My daughter doesn't want it either. The way she explained it, which makes sense, is that the nicotine in the juice can't all go in your body; some is expelled in the vapor you blow out.

What most people don't realize is that nicotine in trace amounts is harmless. And trace amounts is all the second hand vape that could possibly be absorbed by someone in a large space like a home. Of course, we have to respect others opinions in there property, however misguided it may be.

I just tell to my coworkers I'm vaping cookie juice. No nicotine in cookies is there?

Unless your exhaling directly into your daughters mouth, I doubt if it's an issue. How long does she think this nicotine lingers in the air?

heh, funny, cookie juice. I need to remember that line.

And as stated before, I do respect her wishes, I'm just wondering about the validity of it.

One thing that helps is when I mention nicotine is in cauliflower and eggplant. And tomatoes. She likes those, and thought she would need to stop eating them.

You'd think she'd know that- being a nurse and everything.

Being in medicine for almost 25 years, I have found that folks have very ....... definite (?) ...... ideas about what effects them. Most of the time it doesn't pay to try and dissuade them from their beliefs.
Which goes to show that medical school et al. doesn't do anything to take care of that.

She thinks it just hangs in the air until someone breathes it. Which shouldn't be her, with a dozen other sets of lungs, between other guests and the animals.

That's my experience as well. And what they don't know could fill encyclopedias.

You could go here and print some information for her, but you'd probably be wasting your time.
