Seemingly Simple 510 Help (for a newb, anyway)

Status

I am so confused! My original post was in a 510 forum and though the response was helpful, I ended up with more questions:

"Are there any other batteries I can upgrade to that use 1.7- 2.5 ohm cartomizers? I have extra chargers and cartomizers but I'm frustrated with my 510's.

What other batteries can use these cartomizers/ chargers, if any? Thanks!
(Please include specifications, name of battery, what mAh I'd need, etc.)
"

The person who responded suggested, in short, that I get an Ego Twist battery with 650mAh although I could use 1000mAh, but would need a new charger (which I'm ok with).

Looking online I became overwhelmed when I noticed my chosen supplier Madvapes didn't have anything distinctly called this in stock. The variations of the many Egos online aren't my forte in interpreting.

Do I need an Ego-B, Ego-C, Ego-T, Ego-T2, Ego Stardust (or whatever it's called!).
Then there's Type A, Type B for cartomizers...
Also, Canadian vendors seem to primarily sell Ego clearomizers instead! I'm so frustrated!

I just want to be able to use my cartomizers and possibly charger to upgrade my device. Besides that, Canadian vendors seem to charge an arm and a leg more than American sites. Any suggestions? I would much rather get advice on the former question though.

Beggars can't be choosers! Thanks in advance.

PS- I'm looking at http://onestopeshoppe.com/ocart/eGo T/eGo T, ecigarette which looks like a great [Canadian] deal but I'm now confused about "tanks" and whether or not they're interchangeable with my 510 cartomizers (they don't look like it).

Yeah - there's a LOT to learn, and a LOT of options.
Recently went through a similar process - started with 510; wanted more battery; wanted to keep ability to use various cartos and such that I'd bought and kinda liked.
Here's the GOOD news: You picked a 510. That's THE most interchangeable-parts device/connection there is.

I'll give you a few basic bits of info, but you'll probably want to keep looking and reading as you explore options.

1) The mAh is up to you - it defines how LONG the battery will last. So 900 will be like 4 times what you're used to, 1100 will be more than that (unless it's variable voltage, and you use it at a higher voltage, which uses up the batter faster). Get it?

2) Ego batteries have a 510 connection, AND an Ego connection - so a huge variety of cartomizers or clearomizers, etc will work on them - as long as they offer a 510 connection or an EGO connection. And your current cartomizers should work fine.

3) The Ego and similar batteries WILL need a new charger - the ones standard with a 510 are too weak. They actually WOULD charge an Ego (remember - it's the same connection) - but it would take FOREVER. What you have to be careful about - if you get an EGO charger, and it LOOKS just like your old 510 charger, you need to mark them clearly!! You can't put the weak 510 battery on the stronger Ego charger - it'll fry the battery!

Here's a not-too-bad overview of EGO stuff.
Not a Canadian vendor...just informative (I think I bought my first 510 from this place).
Just found this - pretty clear and simple noob-oriented battery info, I think!

One more note - don't know the vendor you linked to, but just so ya know, from looking at their site, you COULD, as a MINIMAL battery upgrade, using your CURRENT cartomizers, just get:
An Ego battery: eGo T/eGo C Batteries
and a charger for it: eGo C/eGo T Charger

ANd I noticed you said you like MadVapes, so a similar upgrade would look like
A battery and a charger. Note that they sell the charger WIRE separate from the AC Adapter that lets you charge from a wall outlet instead of a USB port - you might need that too...

OP use Canvape they are great and have lots of goodies Canvape.com create an account and have a good look around. Also use the sticky in this forum to get a list of all Canadian suppliers.

Get a Vamo u won't be disappointed. If u need further info on this please ask.

I just received mine from CanVapes and it's not working! I got my ego C 650 battery, am using my 510 carts (1.7ohm) and... nothing. :S
It's charged and I just used my cart on my 510, so it's not the cart that doesn't work. I tried the cart on another new ego... nothing.

Help?

It's probably OFF. Newer Ego batteries have an "off" mode, so you can stick it in your pocket without fear of pants-vaping.
The On/Off function is 5 quick clicks (sometimes it takes 6, like it misses one). Hopefully, then you'll see the button LIGHT UP when you push it, and you'll be ready to vape away.

I hope that's all it is!

Besides that, Canadian vendors seem to charge an arm and a leg more than American sites.

While items generally are cheaper on US sites, that cost savings disappears as soon as you figure in shipping. Once that cost gets figured in, you quickly find that the Canadian prices aren't so bad after all.
