I've been looking at the Segelei 20watt for $120 to "upgrade" my MVP2 while using my KFL. I am using a 1.4 ohm coil at about 10 watts on my MVP so don't know if I would ever use the power on the Segelei 20w with my KFL, however it would be fun to try and also I could use a lower ohm and maybe a dripper with this mod. Any input is, as always, much appreciated,
Jim

I don't know what the amp or resistance value limits are on a Sig 20W (can I assume you've already looked at this?)... but those specs would tell you what you can get away with.
An alternate way is to calculate the amp/watt values using ohms law - for example, if the device has a 5 amp limit, @ 20 watts - the result is 0.8Ω as your minimum resistance value. Not saying this is a mandatory setting... those are just the calculations.

If you don't already have a favorite Ohms law calculator, use the "Steam Engine" vaping calculator my sig line hyperlink leads you to. Another calculator I'm fond of is at "The Locust".

I'm using mech with my Kayfun clone on 1.3 ohm build, so that is around 13 watts, fully charged battery..with the coil above air hole (throat hit), I think any more it's going to taste bad.

I use my Russian 91% (1.5 ohm) at 14 watts on my lavatube, tasted really bad...so you really need to fiddle around with coil building...but from I read and RipTrip on youtube..kayfuns were not meant for sub ohming...and most people say 1.5 is sweet spot of Kayfuns

for $120...vape hand budget...up/down motion...btw...have you seen this thing..it's pretty big and with Kayfun..."May the Force be With you Luke" time..

I think would you want consistent flow of power of anything versus more power.

I have the Sigelei 20w and use a kayfun 3.1 clone with a .8 ohm coil and run it at 15 watts and get a great vape out of it. I've even bumped it to 17.5-18 and still great no burning or anything. Using a cotton wick. I love the sigelei

If you don't mind me asking how long have you had it? I was thinking about picking one up and read about some button/power issues (all mods have issues). Everyone was a short term user so that's why I ask the question.
And have you ever slapped a tank on it and vaped. How did that work out?
Thanks.......

I ordered a 20w with a kf clone from ft, but now I'm thinking of canceling and going with a reo and a rm2 instead. I don't think I have any need for 20 watts. Do I?

I have a sigelei zmax that I killed. I'm using a cheap mechanical for now until I decide what to get.

I guess my main desire is a consistent vape with good battery life.

Sorry to .... in on your thread op, but maybe you are thinking similarly?

Depends on how you build your coil, I have a triple twisted .30 gauge .7 ohm in mine now and it likes 20 watts I had a .8 single .28 gauge basic coil fired that at 17.5. So all depends on how you build your coils.

Thanks for the reply. From what I gather, the Kayfun seems to do best ~ the 1.5 ohm mark. I was planning on shooting for a 1.3 ohm microcoil in the Kayfun on the 20W. The PBusardo review has solidified my decision. I am NOT cancelling my order for the 20W/KF3.1 combo.

I will just have to sell some more crap on e-bay to get some REO funds.

Here is the review for anyone interested and who didn't see it posted on one of the the other 20W threads.

Busardo had many good things to say about the Sigelei 20W. I was a bit surprised that his tests confirmed what people have been saying about this new chip: that it performs as well as and is a true competitor to the DNA x0 (I've read that there is a 30w version of this chip, and that there may even be the possibility to flash the chip and upgrade it to a 30w).

I had already ordered it before the review, but I'm more glad that I did since I saw it last night. From what I saw, I agreed with virtually everything he said (having not held it anyways). I would like there to be some sort of "Settings" menu where I can control things like the how long the screen stays at max brightness. Programmable "profiles" would be pretty cool too. I may burn a cloud maker at 18w, but might prefer my Russian 91% at 9.8w. Being able to go in to the menu system and select pre-set wattages would be cool.
