I've been vaping for more than two years. I've been using cartomizer type e-cigs. I own a Blu cig  and not surprisingly; I'm not happy with the product. they're okay, but I want to find something more reliable, delivers flavor better, and portable. If anyone could give any advice or suggestions would be awesome. Also I live in Philly and was wondering if there's any smoke or vape shops that sell e cigs. Thanks and cheers

Cartomizers are not really bad. It's the batteries you probably need to upgrade fast.

The next logical step would be an ego type battery. I would reccomed a variable voltage or variable wattage type device such as an ego twist, vision spinner, innokin itastev3. All probably about the smallest tube shaped ego type variable mods.

For tops, you can use standard cartos on them(I would not reccomed the blu ones) but something like boge or smok tech ones. Preferably in a carto tank.

Although probably more 'simple' to start out with would be a clearo. Either the kanger evod\protank, the aspire bdc, or the iclear16's are all very popular clearo type devices.

And well juice. Lots of juice!

Almost everything will be more reliable than Blue, that being said, vaping is a very personal preference oriented activity but there are a lot of things to consider out if what you said. Dripping will give you the best flavor but its a bit if a pain and most auto dripping mods are relatively expensive, people swear by their reos and I'm sure it earns its credit, its just my credit that would get hurt :p. In the end I settle with a few reliable VV/VW mods and a AGA T-2 because with a good coil the flavor and vapor is intense and battery life is very usable.

I'd recommend starting here: A Good Starter's Setup for a Beginning Vaper. (This may help with some of the terminology: Is it a carto, a tank, or what?, though it sounds like you know a good bit already.) Perhaps the most recommended kit for beginners is this build-your-own starter kit, but my personal favorite recommendation is this starter kit.

Then again, maybe you want to skip the eGo stage and go straight to mods. Some great inexpensive options (under $100) would include the iTaste MVP2 and the Sigelei Zmax v3, which are both variable voltage and variable wattage.

MVP 2.0..all I use are carto-tanks and RBAs. The mvp might still be on sale on 101vape.com.. it comes with one iclear30, which is a top coil clearomizer/atomizer in a tank with the actual atomizer in top of tank. I'd still recommend getting a carto tank to try out..

Cartomizers used outside of cartridges function better, as far as not getting soggy, and a better battery will greatly improve even cartridges. Cartomizer tanks are very common in use with the vaping community.
