This particular meeting addressed the concerns of the marketing practices of the largest players in the industry. Some smaller players got called out on the carpet - Pink Spot and Rocket Fuel Vapes, among them.

Quick recap...

Flavors of any kind a no-no, that means we are targeting children.

Marketing is a no-no.

Social media marketing is definitely a no-no, only children use the interwebz.

There was some hopeful submissions from people other than representatives of big tobacco, but Tom Harkin basically called them liars - disingenuous, money-grubbing monsters who would "do anything to delude themselves into thinking they were saving lives and helping people" in the interest of profit.

Barbara Boxer harped on Twitter for a while, acknowledging the number of vape related tweets, 90% of which were by vendors... and the fact that only kids use Twitter, despite the fact that you have to be age 18 to have an account?
